This was on the top of that horrific hill in Loughcrew. You climb up and can see 18 of the 32 Irish counties in one spot.
You could sit in the Witch's chair and make a wish and then you had to walk clockwise around the Passage Tomb 3 times.

You also got to go into the Tomb which was pitch black so you could carry in torches to see the Megalithic stone carvings. It was pretty damn claustrophobic but I dragged myself in there

It was *SO* interesting to hear. I knew bits and pieces because you know - Irish history and all that. You learn a lot of these stories in school but at the same time I've forgotten so much of those things that it's really cool to hear them more in depth.

Excavated Passage Tomb.
One of the most interesting things to me anyway was how easy it wa in those times to become a God or Goddess, you just had to do some pretty bad ass stuff and you were considered a God(dess) A lot of the Kings were considered as Gods.

Fairy Tree

The burial place of the Goddess Eru on the Hill of Uisneach. When we were walking down to it, our guide made all of the men wait until all the women had gone down to it first - apparently on certain days of the year (the solstices and equinoxes) they don't leave men go near it at all.
We learned how the Kings came to be and how Ireland got it's name Eireann - meaning 'of Eru'
This is worth a read - it's kind of hilarious

Okay will post more later - Time for bed.
