It's my mom's birthday today! Happy birthday, mom!
It's actually impressive I was able to remember, because usually I don't.... not out of disrespect, just because dates, for whatever reason, never seem to stick in my brain. Something about numbers, probably. I always seem to struggle with numbers. This year, however, I'm making it a point to have my phone spam me with notifications about important dates.
Alright, we are on track for a post this week. More Riley, cuz I know you love her! Everyone does. Though to be honest I kinda feel like it took me a couple of pages to really find my stride with her... what a challenging character she's been to write.
Working: Page 79
Playing: I dunno, I could play something, but it's probably time better spent drawing.
I might have said so before, but it's really scary to me to have the first four chapters done already. I think of the comic's story in a few different parts or phases... Phase 1 was all about discovery and setup. The information I was introducing was correct, because all of it was new. Any mistakes or missteps could easily become canon. That's going to get much harder as we move into a more "established" phase, where mistakes and missteps have a danger of contradicting information that's already been established. I've lost much of the freedom I once had to make mistakes, and from now on I'll also be trying to shape the story to a satisfying end.
