It took a bit longer than expected for me to wrap up editing some of the brushtober videos, but I wanted to get them up before the end of the month. I just finished them and am now running them through handbrake so that I can send out the google drive file later today! Here’s a quick review of how October went for me:
BRUSHTOBER CHALLENGE
This was my first time taking on a painting-based art challenge and I’m so glad I did it. I’m someone who likes to stay in my comfort zone so I have to really push myself to try something new. Formulating this as a challenge, and pushing myself to keep drawing even though I was frustrated with the medium, really helped me to learn a lot. Not only did I develop new skills, but I also found that painting is very soothing for me. I’m planning to keep painting in the future even when the challenge is over!
CLOSED CAPTIONS
This month I figured out a way to get closed captions for all of my videos that include voice-over audio, which I’m really happy about. Now Patrons who have a hearing disability, struggle to understand the spoken english, or who just prefer to have subtitles on their videos (like me!) have the option to turn on closed captions! I will be including SRT files in the video folders so you can load them with your preferred video software, and you can also turn them on in the vimeo player when you watch the video in my patreon post feed on the website. I will include closed captions in all videos with voice-over moving forward!

I loved to see the work you did for your brushtober challenge and greatly enjoyed the process videos. They inspired me to try my hand at watercolor again too, since watching you made me realize that I maybe approached it with the wrong mindset in the past. Similarly your procreate videos and tutorials gave me some ideas how to better work with procreate, which has been very frustrating for me in the past, mostly because it is very different from photoshop which I am more familiar with and I tried to use both the same way. So I hope you have had a great first week of November and thank you again for all time and thought you put into your patreon and for sharing your work with us, I very much enjoy being here. :)

Just wanted to say BRUSHTOBER seems to have been worth the effort and a successful opportunity to challenge yourself.
