Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [527]
Added 2025-07-30 10:11:14 +0000 UTCZekrom and Reshiram halted their battle simultaneously, turning their gazes toward the approaching airship.
Confusion flickered in N's eyes.
As Team Plasma's king, he knew that his father had commissioned the construction of a battleship—but why had it, supposedly docked at the harbor, suddenly appeared in the sky? Moreover, Reshiram…
He glanced toward Reshiram and clearly sensed caution radiating from the Pokémon’s heart—something he had never felt before, even when he first awakened Reshiram.
What could possibly make Reshiram this wary...?
Meanwhile, Black, lacking N's special ability to sense Pokémon thoughts, was utterly baffled by Zekrom’s sudden pause.
"Zekrom, don't stop now!" he shouted desperately, attempting to urge Zekrom back into the fight.
But then, a voice rang out from the battleship above.
"There's no point shouting. Zekrom stopped because it senses the presence of the ‘Husk.’"
A platform rose from the battleship, revealing Colress seated comfortably in the cockpit, uniform immaculate, a carefree smile on his lips.
"Ghetsis, I've arrived as planned. What do you think? Right on schedule?"
"Indeed—you couldn't have timed it better!"
Hearing this, N turned to look suspiciously at his father, who had never once mentioned this part of the plan.
All tension and unease had vanished from Ghetsis’s face, replaced by an unfamiliar, unsettling smile that sent chills down N’s spine.
No sooner had Ghetsis finished speaking than his Hydreigon emerged behind him, seizing his shoulders with its claws and carrying him swiftly onto the ship.
Ghetsis surveyed the crowd below, his gaze lingering pointedly on N and August.
"You know," he said with malicious pleasure, "I truly should thank you, August, for delivering Zekrom right to me."
August raised an eyebrow, sensing Giovanni’s amused glance. "Oh?"
Was Ghetsis feeling cocky now?
Did he genuinely think he had August cornered?
"You saved me the trouble of tracking you down. But also..." Ghetsis’s tone darkened suddenly. "It's thanks to you that I've been driven to this extent."
Clearly, Ghetsis still held a grudge over August’s media assault.
August: “?”
How was this his fault? He hadn’t exactly planned this personally.
Ghetsis didn’t waste words further—villains fell by talking too much. At this point, everything would be decided purely by strength.
"I know them best. Allow me to handle the critical next step," Ghetsis said, turning toward Colress.
Colress tilted his head slightly, smiling. "By all means."
With a flourish, Colress handed Ghetsis a remote control.
"But..." Colress raised a finger teasingly. "I'm quite curious—who will be your first target?"
Ignoring Colress’s thinly veiled amusement, Ghetsis pressed a button. Another platform rose from the battleship, accompanied by a deep, resonating roar.
A grayish-blue Pokémon appeared, its face and wings composed of solid ice, radiating intense coldness.
Kyurem, as expected!
August narrowed his eyes, confirming his earlier suspicions. The strange presence he'd sensed through Aura earlier had indeed been Kyurem.
Clearly, Ghetsis had concealed this secret from N and the other Seven Sages. N and the sages all stared blankly, completely clueless.
"What Pokémon is that?" N wondered aloud, staring at Kyurem in bewilderment.
He had never encountered a Pokémon like this before. With his unique perception, he sensed only icy emptiness—no trace of emotion whatsoever.
Ghetsis, now standing atop Kyurem’s back, gave N a commanding look. "N, join me. Together we’ll defeat Zekrom!"
N hesitated. Already holding the upper hand, he hadn’t wanted Ghetsis’s intervention. Besides, his father’s current demeanor felt disturbingly unfamiliar.
Nevertheless, after a moment’s thought, N decided—for the sake of Unova and his ideal world—to help his father.
Yet, when he gave Reshiram the order to attack, the Pokémon outright refused.
N stared in disbelief.
Ghetsis internally cursed his son's incompetence but wasted no time directing Kyurem forward.
Seeing Kyurem charging straight at it, Zekrom roared defiantly. Without waiting for Black’s command, it launched itself at the enemy.
"[Fusion Bolt]!"
"[Glaciate]!"
Electricity and ice collided fiercely.
Storm clouds churned violently in the sky, unleashing heavy hailstones upon the battlefield.
The Team Rocket trio, caught watching the spectacle, scattered in panic.
Giovanni’s Beedrill calmly intercepted the hailstones heading toward its master, slicing them neatly into harmless fragments.
Giovanni watched the chaotic battle above. "Not planning to help your subordinate?" he asked casually.
"And give you an opening to escape?" August shot back.
Giovanni laughed dryly, gesturing casually. "Just a friendly reminder—your subordinate won’t hold out much longer."
Even as Giovanni spoke, Black’s Zekrom steadily lost ground under Kyurem’s relentless assault.
Despite Zekrom’s superior base strength, Kyurem dominated every exchange. With Ghetsis clearly outmatching Black in skill, Black soon found himself desperate.
"Help me, Boss!" Black cried out.
Before August could respond, Black had already begged for aid.
August sighed, giving Mewtwo a pointed look.
Nodding silently, Mewtwo surged forward like a ghostly blur toward Ghetsis and Kyurem.
Seeing Mewtwo leave August’s side, Giovanni’s eyes briefly glinted.
But just then, August warned calmly, "I suggest you avoid doing anything rash. You didn’t think I'd stand beside you completely defenseless, did you?"
August gave Giovanni a meaningful glance.
Giovanni lowered his gaze and quickly adopted an innocent smile. "Whatever do you mean? I have no idea."
August returned the smile. "Good."
While August and Giovanni engaged in verbal fencing, Mewtwo’s progress was abruptly halted—by N and Reshiram.
Though unwilling to assist in Kyurem’s attack on Zekrom, Reshiram faithfully obeyed N’s command to block Mewtwo’s path.
Mewtwo wasted no words, immediately flinging a [Shadow Ball].
Reshiram unleashed a [Flamethrower], detonating the projectile midair.
Amidst the explosive haze, Reshiram briefly lost sight of Mewtwo.
Before Reshiram could react, Mewtwo blurred into view behind it, psychic spoon raised high, striking downward fiercely.
"Reshiram! Behind you, [Fusion Flare]!" N shouted urgently.
Reshiram’s reflexes proved exceptional. Its tail engine surged brightly, quickly forming a blazing fireball behind it, firing straight back toward Mewtwo.
The spoon and fireball clashed—
Boom!
Both Pokémon were hurled apart by the resulting blast.
[Fusion Flare], naturally Reshiram’s own move, barely damaged it—only the explosion’s shockwave impacted it.
Mewtwo, however, wasn't as lucky. Though physically unharmed, it frowned deeply at its red-hot, nearly molten psychic spoon, forced to quickly reshape it with psychic power.
Turning, Mewtwo glanced toward Black’s Zekrom. Things had deteriorated rapidly—Zekrom was now fully suppressed, and Black barely managed to dodge Kyurem’s relentless attacks.
"Boss, help!" Black shouted again desperately.
August calmly reached for another Poké Ball.
With a flash, Darkrai appeared before him.
But before August could instruct Darkrai, four of the Seven Sages rushed forward together.
"Don't think you can interfere with Lord N and Ghetsis's battle!"
Individually unimpressive, the four sages working together surprisingly restrained even Darkrai.
Sighing, August sent out Victini—who hadn’t yet seen battle since joining him—as backup.
With Victini supporting Darkrai and replenishing its energy, handling the four elderly sages posed no difficulty.
Suddenly, applause rang out from the airship.
"Bravo! Worthy of the World Tournament Champion—carrying around so many legendary Pokémon…" Colress praised, eyes glinting sharply. "If memory serves, you only have Rayquaza left now?"
Two purple, technologically enhanced figures appeared beside him.
"Won’t you show me Rayquaza’s true power?" Colress said eagerly, clearly confident in his two Genesect—one purple, one red—both equipped with blatantly anti-Rayquaza Chill Drives.
August glanced briefly at the Genesect and shrugged lightly. "Unfortunately, Rayquaza isn't with me at the moment."
Colress froze briefly, then burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Hahaha! How delightfully unexpected!" he said finally, pushing up his glasses to regain composure. "Seems I was overly cautious. Then victory belongs to me!"
"World Tournament Champion August—and former Team Rocket leader, Giovanni-san!"
August didn't react, but Giovanni nearly laughed aloud at Colress’s arrogant claim.
Two artificial legendary Pokémon—against August?
He himself had previously wielded two Deoxys and a Necrozma, yet hadn’t been certain of defeating August…
Unaware of Giovanni's thoughts, Colress confidently directed his Genesect to attack.
The two Genesect rushed forward from opposite sides.
Without August lifting a finger, Poké Balls at his waist popped open automatically.
Two Deoxys instantly shifted into Defense Forme, blocking the incoming [X-Scissors] with ease.
Specimen One and Specimen Two.
Despite their Psychic-type disadvantage, Deoxys’s Defense Forme easily absorbed the attacks.
"What a coincidence—I also have two identical Pokémon," August smiled mildly at Colress.
Colress’s laughter abruptly died.
He hadn’t anticipated August still possessing two Pokémon matching Genesect’s power.
"What Pokémon are these?" Colress asked, taken aback.
"Deoxys, Pokémon from outer space," August replied casually, turning to Giovanni with a smirk. "Courtesy of Giovanni-san’s generous sponsorship."
Giovanni’s eyebrow twitched violently.
His heart bled—Mewtwo, Deoxys… Those had once belonged to him!
Now, August wielded them freely.
He felt the sudden urge to stab August in the back, but intuition warned him—it was bait.
He mustn't fall for it!
August eyed Giovanni curiously. He had deliberately left Rayquaza with Zinnia to bait Giovanni, yet Giovanni had somehow resisted temptation.
Had Giovanni’s previous capture truly scarred him that deeply?
While August puzzled over Giovanni’s restraint, Colress suddenly brightened again, genuinely fascinated. "Pokémon from space… No wonder they're so perfect!"
August blinked incredulously.
Your brain really works differently, doesn’t it?
