Trapped in Honkai: Integrated Strategies [10]

One month later...

Clang!

The sharp metallic sound of blades colliding echoed sharply.

Feeling the immense force transmitted through her weapon, Lyra stepped backward, deftly using the momentum to pivot and whirl. Her crescent blade traced a perfect semicircle through the air.

The Sarkaz mercenary opposite her—a formidable opponent wielding a greatsword—quickly moved to block, his seasoned reflexes preparing him for Lyra’s next strike.

However, this was the moment the difference between their weapons came into play.

A small, triumphant smile curled at Lyra’s lips. Her right hand tightened slightly, pulling the trigger hidden in her scythe’s handle. With a deafening roar, a bullet erupted from the scythe’s tip.

Using the recoil to accelerate her spin, Lyra’s blade sliced forward with blinding speed, cutting cleanly through the mercenary before he could raise his sword to defend.

With a soft, cloth-like tearing sound, the mercenary followed in the footsteps of his unfortunate comrades—now neatly divided into two halves.

Watching as the corpse dissipated into particles of light, Lyra flicked her scythe back into its compact form and clipped it neatly behind her waist, satisfied.

[Impressive, Host. In just one month, your combat instincts and adaptability have significantly improved.]

[This Sarkaz mercenary was specifically enhanced to match a B-rank Valkyrie’s physical abilities, yet you defeated him effortlessly.]

“That’s only because I spent an entire month literally dying to improve!” Lyra puffed her cheeks, clearly dissatisfied.

[That’s also due to your exceptional talent. Not everyone could maintain such a sunny disposition after repeated deaths. In that sense, you truly are gifted.]

Indeed, this past month had been absolute hell for Lyra.

Or rather, compared to her harsh training, the rogue-lite trials could almost be considered relaxing.

To swiftly transform Lyra from an ordinary girl into a proper warrior, she’d repeatedly faced death in the training simulation.

For someone weak, combat experience naturally came from repeated life-or-death struggles.

Fortunately—or unfortunately—Lyra had countless opportunities to experience this first-hand.

With the system’s merciless assistance, within a week she evolved from barely holding a gun correctly to someone who could calmly shove it down a beast’s throat, trading wounds for survival.

After dying multiple times in the training ground, Lyra became increasingly aggressive in her trial runs as well.

Her second rogue-lite attempt ended prematurely on the second floor due to bad luck.

By her third attempt, however, Lyra once again conquered the second floor—this time relying primarily on her own strength and a bit of luck—earning enough [Originium Ingots] in just over two weeks to afford her first Elite promotion and thus secure her ticket out of the system space.

Surprisingly, at this stage, Lyra didn’t rush to leave.

Repeated deaths within the system had deeply ingrained in her the value of strength.

She chose to stick to her original plan—taking another ten days to thoroughly familiarize herself with the newly obtained Elite 1 physique and her custom-made weapon, the [Crescent Rose Kai].

Why "Kai"? That had to do with her Elite promotion.

After achieving Elite 1, Lyra gained the ability to control and utilize Honkai energy to some degree. To blend seamlessly into the real world, the system disguised her newfound abilities in the form of a natural [Stigmata].

Of course, abilities represented as natural [Stigmata] couldn’t be too ordinary. After Elite 1, Lyra unlocked two specific new skills:

One was acceleration, and the other was Honkai energy materialization.

The first was straightforward, granting her explosive bursts of speed and stability during high-speed movement.

The second skill was akin to psychokinesis—allowing her to shape Honkai energy into physical forms like shields or tentacles. However, as this power required significant practice to master, Lyra hadn’t prioritized it yet.

Additionally, after Elite promotion, [Crescent Rose’s] ammunition system shifted primarily to Honkai energy manipulation, though traditional reloads were still available for backup.

Following a week of adaptation to her upgraded body and weapon, Lyra confidently attempted the trials again, determined to clear the third floor.

And then, she was promptly sent flying back by Bob’s fist.

Though her attempt once again ended prematurely on the third floor, Lyra wasn’t discouraged. After all, the time she'd initially set to leave the system had nearly arrived.

Currently, her resources totaled 4 [Originium Ingots] and 3 [Hope]. She needed only 6 more [Ingots] for a [5★ Recruitment Ticket], meaning within two weeks at most, she’d have another body ready to exact revenge on the third floor.

But first, her top priority was infiltrating St. Freya Academy.

With her main body secured safely within St. Freya, Lyra could peacefully spend two years boosting her strength. Meanwhile, through her other bodies, she could explore alternate opportunities, like the Quantum Sea or World Serpent.

Given her current growth rate, even if she progressed slowly, she’d have at least two or three combatants rivaling Fu Hua by the time the main story began.

And if her power scaled too quickly? Well, she could always recruit help from Herrschers of Reason, Void, and Thunder, farming weekly trials together to exponentially enhance her strength.

But first—joining St. Freya Academy came above all else.

“System, I’m ready. Begin teleportation.”

[Understood, Host.]

The familiar sight of the snowy expedition camp and the pristine white training grounds dissolved around her, replaced by bright sunlight and the smoky scent of ruin.

Lyra opened her eyes, greeted by the same scenery she’d seen a month prior.

[Host, what exactly are you looking around for?]

“I’m searching for any leftover Lyra-jam from a month ago,” she replied solemnly, scanning the rubble.

“Opportunities like these don’t come often. I’ve always wanted to pose with a peace sign in front of my own tombstone. Although nobody erected a gravestone for me here, doing it in front of my flattened self is close enough.”

[I don't recall you being that type of character, Host...]

“Ahem, just lightening the mood!” Lyra clapped her hands and stood up.

Then, sensing danger, she swiftly grasped [Crescent Rose] and flicked it backward.

Transforming instantly into its scythe form, [Crescent Rose] intercepted an incoming arrow with a loud metallic clang. Without hesitation, Lyra gripped the shaft tightly, aiming toward a shadowy rooftop corner and repeatedly squeezed the trigger.

After a series of sharp gunshots, a distant Ranger Zombie crumpled silently to the ground.

“Honestly, I wasn’t planning to settle our grudge yet, but since you kindly came knocking, I couldn’t refuse,” Lyra muttered coolly, blowing smoke theatrically from the scythe’s muzzle.

Gazing confidently toward the heart of Nagazora City, Lyra’s face lit up with anticipation.

“Nagazora, here I come!”
