Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [462]

Arceus stood gracefully in the sky.

Its gaze landed directly upon Giratina and Hoopa.

Sweat immediately drenched Giratina and Hoopa beneath that piercing gaze.

They never imagined that August would actually summon Arceus directly!

This guy has no shame!

Catching the subtle protests Giratina and Hoopa shot his way, August silently defended himself.

Hoopa, you sent out Giratina first. Isn’t it perfectly reasonable for me to send out Arceus?

Besides, isn’t this still technically a fair one-on-one match?

“So, shall we start?” August asked calmly.

Giratina: “…”

Start? Start what? There's no way to fight this!

Having once been banished to the Distortion World by Arceus, Giratina knew best just how terrifying Arceus’s power was.

Forget whether it could win—even if it could, Giratina didn’t dare win!

With that in mind, Giratina immediately started plotting an escape.

From what it knew of Arceus’s temperament, if it fled right now, Arceus would probably find chasing it into the Distortion World beneath its dignity.

However, just as Giratina prepared to bolt, it felt Arceus’s gaze lock onto it with palpable intensity.

It was as if Arceus’s eyes alone could pin it in place.

Giratina had no doubt: if it dared twitch even slightly, [Judgment] would rain down mercilessly.

Giratina: “…”

I take back what I thought earlier—Arceus is clearly in a terrible mood today.

But then, if I can't fight and can't flee, what exactly am I supposed to do?!

Standing nervously behind Giratina, Hoopa had mentally prepared itself for Giratina’s imminent betrayal and escape.

Yet seeing Giratina holding its ground, shouldering Arceus’s oppressive aura on its behalf, Hoopa was deeply moved.

Just then, Giratina let out a fierce roar at Hoopa.

[We can take him!]

Giratina planned to first bluff Hoopa into fighting bravely, then seize any chance to slip away unnoticed.

Hoopa, touched by Giratina’s courage, steeled its resolve.

If even Giratina isn’t afraid, why should I be?

Let Arceus bring it on!

“Hoopa is the strongest!” it shouted defiantly up at Arceus.

It's just Arceus… who’s truly stronger can only be decided by battle!

Hoopa wasn’t just acting reckless—it had carefully noticed that Arceus was currently wielding only one Plate.

Everyone knew Arceus’s strength depended greatly on how many Plates it carried. With only one, it was beatable!

While Hoopa was building up courage, Giratina stared in disbelief.

I only said we could fight! Who told you to provoke Arceus?!

Since when had Hoopa become this brave?

But now, escape was impossible. With so many witnesses around, surrendering outright would mean total humiliation—Giratina absolutely didn’t want to become a laughingstock like Groudon. That left only one choice: fight!

Maybe after taking a few hits, Arceus will forgive me? Giratina thought, still scheming to run when an opening presented itself.

Resolutely, Giratina readied itself for battle.

Seeing this, all the surrounding Pokémon perked up excitedly.

Finally, the battle is about to begin!

Mew eagerly passed around chips, soda, and popcorn, enthusiastically appointing itself referee.

High above, Arceus regarded Hoopa and Giratina, wearing a playful smirk suspiciously reminiscent of Cogita.

“Mew!” Mew squeaked, officially signaling the battle’s start.

Instantly, Giratina gathered ghostly energy from its spectral wings, firing a massive [Shadow Ball] straight toward Arceus!

Overflowing with destructive power, this [Shadow Ball] alone could easily demolish an entire building if unleashed in a city.

But against Arceus, even such an attack was trivial.

The [Pixie Plate] on Arceus’s back glowed softly as a dazzling white light burst forth.

[Dazzling Gleam]

Brilliant light met the incoming Shadow Ball, dissolving it silently, leaving nothing but fading wisps of ghostly energy.

Determined to go all out, Giratina sent its shadow racing across the ground, aiming to ambush Arceus from behind.

Yet Arceus anticipated this perfectly, disappearing from sight the moment the shadow struck, only to reappear right in front of Giratina in the blink of an eye.

Before Giratina could react, Arceus radiated overwhelming power. Countless sparkling pink lights gathered around it, pausing momentarily in midair before raining down relentlessly upon Giratina.

[Judgment]

The attack erupted in a dazzling chain of explosions, forcing Giratina to howl in pain. Seizing this momentum, it frantically sliced open a dark gateway to the Distortion World.

Using the blast’s shockwave as cover, Giratina quickly vanished into the darkness.

I’m outta here!

Left standing alone, Hoopa stared blankly at Giratina’s swift betrayal.

Didn’t we agree to take on Arceus together? Why did Giratina run first?!

Only after several stunned moments did Hoopa realize it had been tricked.

Snapping back to reality, Hoopa trembled, frantically throwing out a ring, desperately trying to flee through a portal.

But before the ring fully materialized, Arceus gently stomped its hoof.

[Gravity]

Thud!

The ring crashed heavily to the ground, dragging Hoopa down as well, completely immobilizing it.

“Mew!” cheerfully announced Mew, munching on Hoopa’s favorite donut, “The winner is August and Arceus!”

Having finished, Arceus shot August an annoyed glance.

[Next time, don’t interrupt me while I’m binge-watching my dramas…]

August’s heart skipped a beat.

Before he could reply, golden light flashed as Arceus vanished through a shimmering rift.

...

Defeated and dejected, Hoopa sat on the ground, sulking like a child.

Although the battle had ended quickly, Hoopa’s pride had suffered a serious blow.

Simply put—it had completely shut down.

“So, are we good now?” August asked, surrounded by legendary Pokémon.

“Hoopa…” Hoopa whimpered softly.

The outside world is too scary—I want back into the bottle!

As Meray watched in astonishment, crimson energy flowed out of Hoopa’s body, funneling itself into the fallen [Prison Bottle].

Now in its Confined form, the smaller Hoopa hovered blankly in midair.

“Is it…over, Hoopa?” Confined Hoopa asked, utterly confused.

Just moments ago, it had been losing a fierce internal battle for control. It was on the verge of total defeat when suddenly the opposing force voluntarily gave up control.

“Oh, thank goodness you’re back!” Meray hugged Hoopa tightly, overwhelmed with relief.

“Ehehe, Hoopa is the strongest!” Hoopa giggled happily in Meray’s arms.

All the legendary Pokémon watching silently exchanged awkward looks.

August’s expression also grew complicated.

So, Confined Hoopa doesn’t remember anything…?

Suddenly, August felt genuine sympathy for the other sealed personality.

Imprisoned for a century, freed only briefly, and then thoroughly traumatized—it bore all the pain, leaving Hoopa with nothing but joy.

Honestly, that’s just sad!

With that, Hoopa’s incident was neatly resolved.

Yet August still felt like he was forgetting something important…

---

After being knocked unconscious by Gardevoir, Baraz finally regained consciousness, looking around in confusion.

Recognizing the place from his ancestor’s journal, excitement briefly flared—until he saw the broken seal and blasted walls.

“I knew that August was bad news!”

“Meray, Hoopa, please be okay!” Baraz prayed desperately, stumbling out of the cave despite dizziness.

When he emerged, seeing Meray happily hugging Hoopa, the [Prison Bottle] discarded nearby, and the assembled legendary Pokémon, Baraz froze in disbelief.

What exactly happened while I was out?!

...

After Meray’s explanation, Baraz gazed at August, thoroughly ashamed.

He’d gravely misunderstood August before.

“It's nothing—just part of my job,” August reassured him graciously.

As an International Police officer, maintaining world peace was his duty. Handling Hoopa’s case naturally fell within his responsibilities.

With Hoopa settled, now came another problem—sending home the legendary Pokémon Hoopa summoned.

Lugia and Ho-Oh generously volunteered to fly back on their own.

Rayquaza, Dialga, and Palkia returned obediently into their Poké Balls, as did Xerneas and Yveltal.

Latias, refusing to leave August’s side, forced her worried brother Latios to stay as a wary chaperone.

Thus, only Groudon and Kyogre remained…

Seeing August glance his way, Kyogre confidently waved its fins, indicating it could easily fly home.

All eyes fell upon Groudon.

The only Pokémon present who couldn’t fly opened its mouth helplessly.

Walking from Kalos back to Hoenn…just kill me now.

Watching Groudon suffer, Kyogre smirked gleefully.

August, noticing Groudon’s despair, suddenly had an idea.

“It’s not impossible for Groudon to fly!”

Everyone turned toward August in surprise.

After some preparation, August presented Groudon with food, activating [Terastallization] moments later.

With a crystal flash, Groudon sprouted balloons, floating comically midair.

“I…I can fly!” Groudon roared joyously.

Yet Groudon failed to notice August’s odd expression—floating wasn’t really flying.

Considering this, August quickly rigged up a rope, attaching Groudon to Kyogre.

“Kyogre, your job is to fly Groudon home!”

Kyogre grinned wickedly.

Groudon: “…”

Let me down! I don’t want to fly anymore!
