Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [456]

At the very moment the Pokéblock was snatched, Sabrina, who was walking ahead, suddenly seemed to sense something. She abruptly turned around, but saw nothing.

"What's wrong, Sabrina?" Blue asked.

Sabrina's face was puzzled. "Just now…"

She had felt an odd presence flash past.

But seeing August was unfazed, Sabrina shook her head again. Perhaps she'd imagined it?

Unbeknownst to Sabrina, directly in her blind spot behind her, a hand quickly reached through a golden ring, swiftly grasping the Special Pokéblock that had fallen to the ground, about to retreat.

The entire movement was skillful and quick.

But no matter how swift it was, it couldn't escape August’s eyes—he had been watching closely with Aura from behind.

[GardevoirSupremacy]: Mew!

[Mew]: Mew!

Mew, for once not slacking off, was fully alert!

Those were her ice creams, after all.

In an instant, Mew flew into the air, eyes glowing blue, using [Psychic] to freeze the grayish-pink hand just as it grasped the Pokéblock.

The hand's owner obviously hadn't expected to get caught, startled and immediately tugging hard, trying to retreat.

But Mew wasn't just idling around all day. She quickly intensified her psychic power, holding tight to the grayish-pink hand.

Both sides fell into a stalemate.

Finally sensing something was amiss, Sabrina and Blue turned around just in time to witness this peculiar tug-of-war.

Blue: "This is…?"

August: "The same guy who stole the ice cream earlier."

Though he'd suspected earlier, seeing the distinctive golden ring confirmed the identity of the culprit.

The mischievous little djinn—Hoopa!

The creator of the famous "can't-fly" scenes!

At this moment, Hoopa, hand immobilized by Mew’s [Psychic], panicked. Above Mew's head, another golden ring suddenly appeared.

The next second—

A huge pile of sand poured directly onto Mew’s head, burying her instantly.

Caught off guard, Mew’s [Psychic] was interrupted.

After struggling free from the sand, Mew shook herself furiously, sand flying everywhere.

By the time she cleaned herself off, Hoopa had vanished without a trace, leaving only a cheeky "Hee hee hee~" echoing in the air.

Mew stood dumbly for two seconds, then realized she'd been tricked, her eyes blazing with fury.

No one messes with me and gets away with it!

An enraged Mew resorted to her ultimate move!

"Meeeew~!"

She grabbed onto August’s clothes, looking up at him with watery, pitiful eyes.

"You..." August sighed helplessly, "You're hopelessly playful and hopelessly weak…"

Honestly, if Mew hadn’t insisted on personally punishing the ice cream thief, he would have already caught Hoopa.

But regardless, since Mew had been bullied, he had to help her save face.

He tossed out Deoxys’s Pokéball.

"Deoxys, I’m counting on you! Find the location of that troublemaker!"

Deoxys could locate a target through its aura signature.

In the original story, Giovanni had used this ability to find his son, but Giovanni no longer needed it now.

Hearing August’s words, Deoxys picked up the Pokéblock Hoopa had touched, sensing the lingering aura. It then closed its eyes and activated [Psychic].

A moment later…

Deoxys opened its eyes, nodding to August.

"Let's go!"

Deoxys placed its tentacle on August’s shoulder. August grasped Blue and Sabrina’s hands, and together with Mew, they vanished from the spot, leaving the passersby around them stunned.

...

Creation Valley was nestled within a desert in the Kalos Region.

From the golden alpaca-like ornaments scattered throughout the village, it was clear the people here worshipped Arceus fervently.

Within the village, Meray looked at Hoopa, who was clutching its hand tearfully, with an expression of helplessness. "Hoopa, did you misuse your powers again?!"

Hearing Meray’s rebuke, Hoopa pouted, feeling wronged: "Hoopa just picked up something nobody wanted off the ground…"

As proof, Hoopa held out the Pokéblocks it had swiped earlier.

Meray examined one of the Pokéblocks curiously. "These look like Pokéblocks from the Hoenn Region…"

Even though Creation Valley was relatively isolated, in this modern age, the internet allowed them to experience distant things from home.

She sniffed the Pokéblock seriously. "Hoopa, return this to its owner!"

The enticing aroma alone indicated these weren't ordinary sweets; they had to be quite valuable.

"Hoopa really did pick it up from the ground!" Hoopa waved frantically.

Meray was puzzled. Hoopa might be mischievous—well, very mischievous—but it had never lied. Could it really have been lying there unattended?

Just as Meray pondered this, a shadow suddenly appeared overhead, covering both her and Hoopa.

Before Meray could figure out what was happening, Hoopa, sensing a familiar aura, quickly ducked behind her, shrinking to hide itself completely.

Figures descended slowly from the sky.

Meray, having lived all her life isolated in Creation Valley, was stunned by the sudden appearance of strangers and strange Pokémon. "Who are you…?"

August smiled gently at Meray. "Let me introduce myself. I’m August, and these two beside me are Blue and Sabrina."

He then pointed to Mew, still perched grumpily on his shoulder. "And this heavy little fellow is Mew, and this is Deoxys..."

"As you can see, we’re 'outsiders' visiting here for the first time."

Hearing August admit openly they were outsiders, Meray was immediately astonished, as few ever came to Creation Valley from the outside world.

Curious, she asked, "May I ask… why have you come?"

"You’ll have to ask that one." August gestured behind Meray.

Hoopa had just poked its head out, but seeing August pointing at it, immediately ducked behind Meray again.

"Hoopa?" Meray was startled but quickly understood. "Those Pokéblocks were yours, Mr. August!?"

She hurriedly bowed in apology, "I'm so sorry. Hoopa caused you trouble! I'll make sure it returns the Pokéblocks to you immediately!"

"The Pokéblocks are indeed mine, but I intentionally dropped them on the ground. I'm not here for the Pokéblocks…"

Meray blinked in confusion. Not for the Pokéblocks? Then…

August said nothing further, instead turning his head towards Mew.

Furious, Mew waved her tiny fist at Hoopa. "Mew!"
