The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [459]
Added 2025-07-05 10:37:25 +0000 UTC“Even though I didn’t pull any useful weapons… oh well, at least I got to revisit some childhood memories.”
Jia Changjiang waved dismissively, ignoring the fact that he had no immediate use for anything he'd just drawn.
Sorting through the ordinary items, he found a few toys, deciding to pass them along to Klee later.
“I might not have become a great hero,” he grinned, “but at least I’m a master of weapons now!”
Opening the window, Jia Changjiang stretched comfortably toward the morning sunlight—
—and immediately spotted Lumine and the others standing outside, already dressed in summer outfits.
Jean and Barbara had changed into summer dresses. Even Lumine and Paimon sported new clothing that radiated summer vibes.
“Jia Changjiang!” Lumine shouted, noticing him opening the window. “The sun’s practically roasting your lazy butt! How are you only just waking up?”
“Come on! We're going out!” Lumine called, already moving to fetch Klee.
“Got it, got it.”
Jia Changjiang eyed their summery clothes thoughtfully, then rummaged around briefly, pulling out his favorite pair of beach shorts and a breezy shirt.
He’d bought them specially from a merchant at Liyue Harbor.
Sturdy fabric, easy to fight in, dries fast, and cool to boot.
By the time he stepped outside, Lumine had put on sunglasses bought from a Fontaine merchant and was fiddling with a camera.
Far from adventurers hunting down Dodo-King, they looked exactly like tourists on vacation.
“I didn’t expect Jean would put on summer clothes too,” Jia Changjiang remarked casually, hefting a large beach umbrella over his shoulder.
“This… was included in the pouch Lisa gave us,” Jean admitted shyly. “It seems everyone planned this surprise for me.”
“Barbara got one too!” Lumine said cheerfully. “And it’s not just summer clothes—we brought swimsuits too! Later, we'll go swimming, and I’ll make sure to take plenty of photos—”
Bonk! Paimon headbutted Lumine sharply. “Traveler, stop coming up with weird ideas!”
“I didn’t expect you and Lumine to be so… thoroughly prepared,” Jean sighed lightly.
Originally, she only had the outfit Lisa had provided. But somehow, Lumine had come prepared with swimsuits in various sizes, which left Jean and Barbara with little reason to refuse…
And now Jia Changjiang was carrying a large sun umbrella. They truly had come fully prepared, as if this island trip was just a leisurely vacation.
“Hey, don’t underestimate this umbrella,” Jia Changjiang explained, noticing Jean’s puzzled expression. “It’s actually a weapon. I had the blacksmith custom-make it.”
“Just before summer arrived, I commissioned the blacksmith for this beauty,” Jia Changjiang continued proudly. “The ribs and handle are pure steel, the canopy is reinforced with Starsilver, and the tip is made from premium crystal ore. I could easily take down ten Hilichurls with this.”
Carrying the umbrella on his shoulder, Jia Changjiang smiled brightly. “Even on vacation, safety comes first. Don’t you feel a lot safer knowing my umbrella is actually a weapon? Relax, Jean—just enjoy your vacation.”
“Hm…” Jean nodded softly, unsure what else to say.
“They all keep telling me to relax. Am I really pushing myself too hard normally?”
Jean quietly reflected on her own behavior.
“Let’s go, let’s go!” Klee eagerly bounced around as always. “It’s time to find Dodo-King!”
As soon as they left the Serenitea Pot, something unexpected greeted their eyes.
Floating buoys had appeared overnight, scattered all around the sea.
“Buoys? I don’t think they were there yesterday…” Barbara said worriedly.
“A device appearing overnight… definitely suspicious!” Paimon speculated.
Klee, however, pouted unhappily. “Dodo-King still hasn’t come to see me… Does he not acknowledge Klee as family?”
“Does Klee have to go find Dodo-King herself?”
Jean considered this seriously. “Waiting around isn’t productive, so perhaps we should—”
“—blow them up,” Jia Changjiang finished for her promptly. “If the buoys look suspicious, let’s just blast them.”
“Yes! Blow them up!” Klee clapped eagerly, hearing Jia Changjiang’s suggestion.
“Alright!”
Jia Changjiang confidently drew his Amos’ Bow without hesitation.
“Be careful, Mister Jax,” Jean reminded gently.
“No worries, I never miss,” Jia Changjiang reassured, calmly drawing his bow. “Step back a little…”
As his arrow streaked forward with a loud whistle, it struck one of the floating buoys dead-on, causing it to explode instantly. Energy visibly surged downward, vanishing beneath the waves.
After several buoys were swiftly destroyed, Jean clearly heard faint mechanical sounds beneath them.
Suddenly, the entire island trembled violently beneath their feet.
“Eek!” Klee wobbled from the sudden shaking, nearly tumbling off a slope before Paimon quickly grabbed her to safety.
“What’s going on?!” Lumine cried, helping Barbara steady herself. She stared in shock as new islands began rising dramatically from the ocean all around them.
“Are… islands emerging from the sea?!”
When the shaking finally ceased, Lumine finally understood why the map looked so strange when they'd first arrived—why they had only seen four islands before.
It turned out the other islands had been hidden underwater.
Now, the true Golden Apple Archipelago lay before them.
“What a mysterious sea…” Jean murmured in awe.
“This is definitely Dodo-King’s doing!” Klee shouted excitedly. “Dodo-King, here I come! I’m gonna catch you!”
With that, she dashed off energetically.
“Mechanisms, letters, and now these islands… Dodo-King certainly isn’t ordinary,” Jean remarked seriously. “We must remain vigilant.”
“Interesting,” Jia Changjiang observed, looking at the newly surfaced islands with growing curiosity.
“I found him! It’s Dodo-King!” Klee’s excited voice suddenly rang out, drawing everyone’s attention to a distant island.
“There! On that platform!”
In the distance, clearly visible, was a platform sitting at the very center of the sea—and standing upon it, a figure.
It appeared tall and imposing, yet indistinct from afar.
“What is that?”
“We’ll find out when we get closer, won’t we?” Jia Changjiang smiled boldly. “Even if it really is the big bad king himself…”
“The arena’s set. There’s no reason not to accept the challenge!”
