I, Noelle, Persuade With Reason! [18]

Noelle had been quietly watching Amber in the distance when suddenly a raven flew in front of her, blocking her view.

Immediately afterward, with a flash of lightning, a girl materialized out of thin air, while the raven stepped aside gracefully.

At Fischl’s pleading insistence, Oz had reluctantly devised this flashy entrance to make a strong first impression on Noelle.

As expected, Noelle and Lumine’s shocked reactions thoroughly delighted Fischl.

With renewed confidence, she dramatically placed her left arm over her forehead, lifted her right arm slightly, fingers delicately positioned near her chest and chin, striking a textbook chuunibyou pose.

“I am the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, Fischl, summoned by fate itself to this world. Traveler from another realm, this Prinzessin graciously grants thee permission to accompany her,” Fischl declared grandly, a faint, proud smile curving her lips.

Internally, however, Fischl was deeply anxious. What if Noelle laughs at me? Will my dream crumble again?

Oz was already preparing to intervene and smooth things over for Fischl if necessary. Even if friendship proved impossible, he’d at least leave a good impression.

Thankfully, Noelle didn’t laugh. Instead, she observed Fischl curiously from head to toe.

Fischl’s golden hair cascaded freely, styled with two playful twintails accented by mismatched ornaments, exuding youthful liveliness. Her bangs partially concealed an eyepatch, making her emerald-like eye especially striking against her delicate features.

Her dark-purple miniskirt featured intricate, asymmetrical patterns, blending reality and fantasy. The design accentuated her slender waist, the long, feathered skirt invoking mystery and elegance.

Most striking were Fischl’s stockings—one a dark, thigh-high held by a garter, the other a full-length stocking, boldly highlighting her unique personality.

Such an unusual girl. At first glance, Noelle found the asymmetry chaotic, yet closer inspection revealed undeniable beauty.

Such an innocent girl, yet her style is so daring. Does she realize how provocative she looks? Noelle couldn’t help silently teasing.

Fischl reminded her of Mona, another girl who radiated innocence yet confidently wore whatever she pleased—clearly unconcerned about others’ opinions.

Suddenly imagining Mona in a bunny costume—with big floppy ears and a fluffy tail—Noelle smiled. She’d look adorable. I have to get one made for her sometime.

Lost in thought, Noelle silently stared at Fischl for several seconds without speaking, causing Fischl’s anxiety to spike again. Had her entrance offended Noelle? Was she angry? Panicking, Fischl sent Oz a desperate glance, pleading for help.

Oz sensed trouble too, preparing to translate Fischl’s words plainly for Noelle.

But then, Noelle abruptly lifted her right hand, placed her fingers dramatically on her nose bridge, her left hand supporting her elbow, emitting a strange, sinister chuckle.

Fischl and Oz’s eyes widened in confusion, equally baffled by Noelle’s behavior. Lumine and Paimon also stared blankly. What was Noelle doing?

“I never imagined…” Noelle sighed dramatically, voice deep and mysterious, “that after hiding my identity for so long, you would see through me.”

“???”

Fischl was completely lost, but suddenly a faint possibility dawned, though she dared not believe it.

Noelle continued with deep sincerity, fully immersed in her performance:

“Long ago, I traveled countless worlds, crossed mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Sometimes, I was a Captain leading Valkyries against Honkai. Sometimes, an Admiral commanding hundreds of shipgirls against Sirens. Other times, a Master forming contracts with Heroic Spirits to save humanity. But now, I’ve come to Teyvat, content as a simple maid longing for peace. Yet, since Her Highness the Prinzessin has uncovered my secret, may I make a small request?”

Listening halfway, Fischl trembled with excitement, hands clasped over her heart, pulse racing uncontrollably.

For the first time in years, she’d met someone whose thoughts resonated instantly with her own. Every word, movement, and expression from Noelle pierced Fischl’s heart and soul perfectly.

“Please, continue.” The Prinzessin tried to maintain composure, though barely suppressing her excitement, gesturing regally for Noelle to proceed.

“As fellow travelers summoned to this world, O noble Prinzessin der Verurteilung, would you allow me the honor of journeying by your side, to face the wicked dragon Tasraque together and protect Mondstadt?” Noelle stepped forward, extending her hand gently.

“How do you know about Tasraque…? Ahem—I, this Prinzessin, grant thee permission.” Fischl’s joy was overwhelming, leaving no room for suspicion. Fighting her excitement, she slowly grasped Noelle’s hand, as though sealing a solemn pact.

The warmth of Noelle’s fingertips made Fischl’s face flush bright red. She stared dumbly, her mind blank except for giddy happiness.

Oz watched helplessly, feeling genuinely confused for the first time. So this is the real Noelle?!

Fischl had finally made a friend—something to celebrate—yet why did Oz suddenly feel as though someone was stealing his daughter away?

Lumine and Paimon exchanged bewildered looks. Who was Fischl? And what was Noelle talking about? Captain? Admiral? Master? What were those supposed to mean?

Even the Abyss Mages eavesdropping secretly nearby stared at each other, alarmed. Was Noelle really that powerful? Comparable to their prince? This discovery was monumental!

As the only genuine traveler across worlds among the three, Lumine found herself uncertain. Traveling between worlds wasn’t impossible—after all, she’d done it herself. But encountering two people suddenly claiming similar experiences was beyond unusual.

“Noelle, have you really visited all those worlds? To be honest, I’ve traveled dozens myself, though most were fairly ordinary,” Lumine asked earnestly.

Instead of answering directly, Noelle posed her own question: “Have you visited many different planets?”

“Yes, my brother and I journeyed through many worlds. When we arrived here, we tried leaving but were stopped. When I awoke, my brother was already gone.” Meeting two others who claimed world-traveling experience compelled Lumine to open up slightly, though she withheld some crucial details.

“I see… Don’t worry. We’ll help you find your brother. Maybe he’s secretly watching over you even now,” Noelle comforted, sensing Lumine’s sadness.

“Mm… Thank you, big sister.” Feeling Noelle’s genuine kindness again, Lumine softly adjusted her form of address.

Noelle missed Lumine’s subtle shift, instead introducing Lumine and Paimon to Fischl and Oz.

Fischl refused to let go of Noelle’s hand, obediently holding it tightly. Noelle didn’t object—it felt pleasant anyway.

Only then did Paimon finally recover, whispering urgently into Lumine’s ear that she’d misunderstood something. Lumine remained skeptical, deciding not to press further.

Once everyone was acquainted, Noelle suggested resuming their mission. Fischl asked to join, and Noelle happily agreed.

Thus, when Amber saw Noelle approaching, she was surprised to see Fischl tagging along, intimately holding Noelle’s hand.

“You finally made it—I nearly fell asleep waiting!” Amber complained teasingly, immediately pulling Noelle into a warm, tight hug.
