The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [452]
Added 2025-06-29 10:06:03 +0000 UTCAfter leaving the library, Klee sprinted straight to Acting Grand Master Jean’s office, bursting through the door with a shout: “Jean! Jean! Klee needs leave! Klee has to go on a trip!”
Lumine and Paimon chased behind her, Lumine breathlessly calling out: “Klee, please don’t run so fast…”
“Haha…”
Jia Changjiang entered last, noticing not only Jean inside the office but Barbara as well.
“Oh, everyone's here.” He nodded in greeting to Jean and Barbara.
“Lumine? Paimon? And Mister Jax? You’re with Klee?” Jean looked somewhat puzzled.
“A sisters’ gathering—how sweet,” Lumine teased gently, glancing between Jean and Barbara. “Are we interrupting something?”
“Ahem… Not at all.” Jean quickly moved around the desk, crouching gently to speak with Klee. “Klee, what's this about asking for leave?”
“Klee has to go to the Golden Apple Archipelago and meet Dodo-King! Otherwise, he’s going to take Dodoco away!” Klee explained urgently. “He doesn’t believe Klee can be Dodoco’s family, so Klee has to prove it!”
“Dodo-King?” Jean and Barbara exchanged confused looks.
“Allow me to explain,” Jia Changjiang sighed, seeing their puzzled faces. He glanced around, realizing he was currently the only reliable adult who knew the whole story. Stepping forward, he concisely laid out the current situation.
“The Golden Apple Archipelago?” Jean frowned slightly. “Does this place truly exist?”
“As long as nothing goes wrong, we should be able to find the islands,” Lumine nodded confidently.
Even though Venti spent every waking hour loafing around the tavern and wasn’t exactly reliable, as a Wind Spirit—part of the thousand winds and as Barbatos, the Anemo Archon—his information was usually pretty solid.
“Jean, have you forgotten about a certain green, drunken bard?” Lumine prompted. “Venti definitely knows where this place is.”
Jean thought carefully for a moment before responding firmly, “I'm sorry, but I can't approve Klee’s leave request.”
Klee: “But why!”
Paimon: “But why?”
“Even if the islands exist, we don’t know how safe they are. I can’t allow Klee to go somewhere potentially dangerous,” Jean explained gently.
Klee’s face crumpled sadly. “But… if Klee doesn’t go, Dodoco will get taken away… Klee doesn’t want to lose Dodoco…”
“K-Klee…” Barbara’s heart softened at the sight of the girl’s distressed expression.
“Ouch…” Lumine winced, feeling even her own heart, normally hardened by adventure, soften painfully at Klee’s sad face.
If Jean wouldn’t let Klee go, Lumine would just have to find Venti herself. She’d get him to issue a divine decree—or threaten to ban apple cider for an entire month!
Klee is justice!
Jean, visibly conflicted, still managed to remain firm. “Besides, without a safe and reliable means of travel, I simply can’t approve.”
“Hmm…” Jia Changjiang considered this, then brightened. “Then, to put it another way, if we can prove the islands are safe and have a stable way to get there, you'd agree, right, Jean?”
Hope immediately sparkled in Klee’s eyes as she looked up at Jia Changjiang.
In that moment, Jia Changjiang’s standing in the little girl’s heart shot up dramatically.
“Well…” Jean hesitated, but the logic held up. “That’s correct.”
“Then please wait just a moment, Jean…” Jia Changjiang exchanged meaningful glances with the others around him.
Outside, Jia Changjiang rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “If I remember correctly, the Knights of Favonius don’t have much going on lately. Most of the urgent tasks have been handled already…”
“Mister Jax, can you really find a way to reach the Golden Apple Archipelago?” Barbara asked curiously.
“Venti might be lazy, irresponsible, and constantly slacking off, but when it comes to leisure and information, he’s never let us down!” Lumine declared confidently, hands on her hips.
“Ven…ti?” Klee looked up curiously.
“He’s a drunkard bard who sings for money!” Lumine squatted down to gently coax Klee. “You can call him Venti too, okay?”
“Then, how about this?” Barbara nodded decisively. “I’ll try to convince my sister. She’s quite serious, so it might take a little while…”
“Thank you, Sister Barbara!” Klee cheered happily.
“Then we’ll go talk to Venti first,” Lumine nodded.
“And as for finding our transport—leave that part to me!” Jia Changjiang eagerly flexed his fingers. “I haven’t visited Stormterror’s Lair lately; my hands have been itching…”
“Eh?” Barbara stared blankly. “Why would you go to Stormterror’s Lair—”
But Jia Changjiang was already sprinting off before Barbara could finish.
Lumine grabbed Barbara’s hand, eyes glittering mischievously. “Oh right, Barbara!”
“I just had a… brilliant idea!”
“After looking at the map, I thought… the Golden Apple Archipelago looks perfect for a vacation!”
...
Not long after his grand declaration, Jia Changjiang was already heading towards Stormterror’s Lair, weapon strapped to his back.
Having just finished clearing out some stray Hilichurls at the foot of the tower, Jia Changjiang glanced up as a massive head emerged through a hole in the ruin.
“Hey, Dvalin! It’s me again!” Jia Changjiang waved cheerfully. “Did you miss me?”
He quickly scaled the familiar route he'd previously repaired to the top of the tower.
“You again…” Dvalin sighed in mild exasperation.
“Dvalin, you won’t believe what’s been going on in Liyue,” Jia Changjiang grinned mischievously. “Lumine and I just found out that Rex Lapis has a dragon friend too—but not a graceful Anemo dragon like you. His friend is a Geo Dragon.”
“Hey, maybe all of the Seven Archons have dragon friends?” Jia Changjiang glanced thoughtfully at Dvalin’s sleek, serpentine body.
“I bet Azhdaha, the Geo Dragon, would envy your figure. Actually, come to think of it, Rex Lapis himself has a dragon form too.”
“Don’t worry, next time I meet Azhdaha, I’ll be sure to tell him clearly: ‘Azhdaha, don’t listen to those rumors—there’s no such thing as a dragon who’s slim, graceful, can fly, and leaves tiny whirlwinds or fluffy clouds trailing behind them…’”
“…So, what exactly did you come here for?” Dvalin gave Jia Changjiang a suspicious look.
“Well, to be perfectly honest… we’re hoping you can give us a ride somewhere,” Jia Changjiang admitted sheepishly. “Someplace that would be great for a vacation…”
