PP "Karma(LOL)"

Hello.. dear my supporters.

Are you all staying healthy and doing well?

It's Practicedoodle "Karma (LOL)".

It’s been a while since I drew a standing pose. Before coloring, I thought a lot about what style to use.

I tried to color in a Manga style, but in the end, I unconsciously went back to my usual habit. haha..

These days, I’m thinking a lot about my working process.

I will try hard to study and find the most efficient way to work.

Before, I once had a concept I wanted to try.

It was a "3-day challenge," drawing a finished work every 3–4 days.

But at that time, my works kept getting delayed, so I couldn’t do it.

Now I think it would be nice to try that kind of thing with practice doodles like this.

I also think I need to adjust my work routine for my main works. haha..

Practice and doodles finish quickly, so they are fun, but that makes time control not easy. haha.. Sorry.

Anyway, I will keep drawing hard.

Thank you. Have a nice day.

Even for a doodle this looks great

I've commissioned many artists and most would do rough sketch into lineart into flat color into render and shading. I've only seen 2 where they skip lineart one went straight into shading because that's more faster for him when doing multiple commissions and the other goes straight to shapes but says he does it when the art simple like pinups, complex scenes and pose he does lineart.

Recently, I thought a lot about the sketch stage in my work process. When see my finished works, my art style usually does not leave linework, so it is not very dependent on lines. Because of that, in some recent works, I skipped some details in the linework and went straight to coloring. But it was not very good. I thought a painting-focused method would have good synergy with my style, but actually, it was not very different. It even felt slower, because I skipped the sketch step where I usually make some plan in my head about details and coloring. The artists I study also usually do only a simple sketch and then go directly into coloring, building shapes and details. But for me, that way is too difficult. I don’t want to blame talent, but I think I don’t have much talent for quickly imagining everything in my head. haha.. For ordinary people like me, I think need to practice line drawing very hard. Being good at line drawing itself is a huge advantage, and I think it is really helpful. I think good line drawing is pure power that allows you to draw anything. Actually, I’m not good at line drawing. haha.. Painting-focused work also needs line drawing skills as the base, so first I need to practice drawing harder. Anyway, good line drawing skill is the truth.
