Second half of 2019!

Hey guys!
What's the plan now that G&G chapter 5 storyboard+lineart has finished posting here?

THE PLAN FOR G&G

- Finished pages of chapter 5 will start posting on 19th of August, 6PM, daily (MO-FR) for the $5-tier!
- Chapter 6 still needs one or two more scenes. When they're approved, storyboard pages will be uploaded for the $3-folks. I don't know yet when I will start lining them, but I keep you updated.

 PERSONAL PLAN

- Finish jobs for 2019. I have three more left: 1 issue of Luna Wunderwald (currently doing that), 1 secret comic book project for a publisher (started already, but I'm going fulltime with it once Luna is finished), 2 schoolbook covers. Estimated deadline: Early November 2019
- staying healthy and happy

A big THANKS to all of your pledges and support on any platform! The money raised through Patreon (+Webtoon) helps a ton. ♥♥♥

If you have any questions or feedback for me (like the pace of the updates or story wise), I'm happy to hear and answer it.

Comments

Thanks Jason! It's relaxing to know that there's a group of people in the background that just stay there whatever I'm doing ♥

Ya try some things out. Your artwork and stories are amazing, so we'll be here to support you on Patreon.

Yeah, I know. Maybe I should just go for it. I've gotten ok-resistant to certain comments (I actually don't get them anymore! "too short!" etc.), yet it's still a bit hurtful so I don't want to summon them. Since I get some money from WT through pageviews/ads, it could be interesting to have more but shorter updates per month and see how it affects the income.

To be fair, Webtoons is a crazy place full of crazy people.

Thanks for taking the time to find better solutions! I noticed the strong decrease of pledges in the storyboard-only phase, too. I'll see how I'll deal with the next chapters' final pages. Since I'm doing them in batches (even somehow the whole chapter 5 is "one big batch" and I kept going back and forth), I can't upload a single page when it's done. But I'll keep that in mind when working on chapter 6 :) (Maybe I'll stretch the daily updates to every two days to keep the final pages running for a longer time to catch up with chapter 6.) I understand that 3 weeks is an eternity. It's comfortable for me atm because it has gotten me half a year of buffer. I hated going on breaks in the past and I rather have continuous updates. When the pages will be done faster next year, I can probably speed it up! My favorite would be to upload one or two pages/week, but Webtoon readers would kill me if I did that XD I really like that pace as a reader myself.

I have given it some thought and I'd suggest you publish finished pages to Patreon more as they are being finished. As I can see there are two advantages to this: 1. Early access to finished pages seems to be a big draw of patrons. Patron and $ count spiked and reached an all time high as the chapter 4 pages were being put out, and has mellowed out and dropped below 500 during the storyboard/lines phase. So if early access to finished pages are the biggest contributor to new patrons, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to hold them back. 2. If you publish the pages as they're being finished, you'll get feedback on writing and pacing earlier, with lots of time to make adjustments before the chapter thereafter. Additionally I'd suggest more frequent public updates with somewhat longer breakes between chapters with status updates akin to what you've published here. Three weeks is an eternity in internet-time, so there are basically large gaps in reader attention between pages that are supposed to be read in one go. All in service of keeping the momentum (and accelleration) of G&G up. Of course, these are just suggestions, and ultimately you'll have to do what's most practical for you, even if it doesn't maximise patreon donations. I am also speculating quite a bit, seeing as I personally don't have much preference in terms of update schedules and such.
