But things get off to a rough start — she shows up late on her very first day. By the time she arrives, the rest of the group has already begun their training.
The head nurse isn’t amused. As per the “tradition” of the ward, Wilma must go through a special initiation — a punishment for her tardiness. What starts as a lighthearted warning quickly turns into something far more intense: Wilma is instructed to lie down while her fellow interns, smiling and whispering among themselves, begin the process.
Under the watchful eye of the instructor, Wilma’s arms and legs are fully encased in thick white plaster casts. Her limbs are completely immobilized — a full body cast as part of her “welcome.” During the procedure, the mood is playful yet mocking, as the other nurses make jokes, laugh, and treat Wilma like the center of a bizarre prank.
Once the casting is complete, they place her in a wheelchair and, without further explanation, leave her alone in the hallway — fully casted, helpless, and humiliated. Wilma quickly learns that this internship might be far more challenging than she ever imagined…
