"Playing Outside" Diminished Blues Guitar Lick Lesson | Advanced!

Hello friends,

And welcome to another lick of the week tutorial. In today's lesson I'll be breaking down a jazz-blues guitar lick that is designed to build tension for your listeners. By focusing on the flat 3rd and 5th notes over a major key, we will be playing "outside" of the usual major and pentatonic scales. This type of playing is very affective for grabbing the attention of your audience, but should be used conservatively. Let's get started!

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated..

Wow, I forgot about this lesson! Yes, I can make a lesson on how to play over a turnaround in E and feature those licks. I'll try to get that done soon. Thanks Bob.

Any way you could show us how to play the first part, it's awesome..

This is awesome! I need to learn this :)
