Blues Guitar Lesson | 12 Bar Blues & Turnaround Riff | Key of A Major

Hello friends,

It's great be back in my studio here in Philadelphia, as I'm eager to share with you my new lesson plans over the coming days. Kicking off our weekend practice is a follow up to my previous video breaking down a blues-rock turnaround in the key of E. In this tutorial I'll be showing you how to perform that same technique in the key of A major. Let's get started!

Rob, I've really enjoyed learning this turnaround in Amaj and Emaj. At end of the walk down in Emaj, I use a pull off from G to open E. Just a little improv! :)

Hey John, glad you're making good use out of these tutorials. I always teach turnarounds that take you to the very last beat of the 12 bar, so this will drop you right off at the beginning of the chord progression, the one chord.

These two turnarounds really have broadened my limited collection of turnarounds. What isn't always clear to me is how do I proceed to the one chord after the last segment of the turnaround. For example, do I go directly to the one chord or do I throw in a few extra strums on the B7, in the case of E key, or E7 in the case of the key of A? Apologize if I'm not clear with my question. Thanks.
