With Love

Behind every nakey girl on the internet is a dog who is just waiting for it to be time for a walk.

For 7 years this wild pup has been at my heels, driving me bananas, and reminding me what is truly good in life. I’m not a morning person, but waking up every day to her big grin and “Fuck YES! Guys!!! We’re here! We’re doing this!” energy was absolutely contagious.

Her bouncing stopped suddenly so the vet ran some tests; this weekend we found out she had an aggressive form of lymphoma and we made the tough decision to have her euthanized at home to stop her suffering. We’re heartbroken. There’s never a good time to lose your best buddy.

This naughty, beautiful, and fiercely loyal little maniac was a conduit of pure positivity. We found each other in a shelter years ago, it was an impulsive decision but I was going through a hard time and I fell for her impish spirit. She’s brought light and levity to every day since. The cartoonish and prancing clown of our household.

When she was a puppy, tearing through the woods like a happy wild beast, my kids decided “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen was her theme song. They would sing it whenever she got in trouble for being too rambunctious. They appreciated that she knew many complex tricks, and was an ace at long distance scent detection (training her for this was one of my favourite pastimes), but she couldn’t sit nicely when guests arrived if her life depended on it. Her joy could not be contained.

Rest in peace to my biggest best mistake, and my sweetest muse. ❤️

If I can leave you with one thing she taught us it’s this; Freak out with excitement every time you see someone you love. That way they’ll be absolutely sure, even when you’re gone, that you were crazy about them. Fuck what anyone else thinks, joy is enough of a reason.
