The Winner!

I don’t want to forget the winner of our “keep a clothespin on your tongue for as long as possible while you get lovingly hazed by the coven for Heart’s enjoyment” contest: Aster!

You might not know this, but the most painful part of having a wooden clothespin on your tongue is when it gets removed. Not only is all the blood rushing back to that pinched spot, but the wood gets kind of waterlogged from your saliva and it ends up getting stuck to your tongue like velcro. The longer it’s there the more it hurts when it releases its grip.

Please congratulate Aster, our most tenacious guest, who was sporting this clothespin shaped indentation for a while.

It’s hard to say how long she held it on her tongue for because every time someone asked how long it had been Piper looked at her watch and said sincerely “it’s been about…. 2 minutes.” And the rest of us took it at face value. Every time. (Much to the dismay of the participants.)

“I don’t know why they’re complaining, it’s only been 2 minutes!”

I can tell you that the first photo I have with clothespins on tongues is time stamped 9:34pm, and this one was taken at 10:04. 🏆
