‘Zine Project

I wanted to share the good news with you: We’re bringing back our coven ‘zine!

In the Before Times our ‘zines were created by our fantastic community alongside the Sapphic Slumber Party events. Ms.O recently put the whole collection on display in her new apartment (photo above) and I was reminded how special they were, and how much I enjoyed collaborating with this creative coven.

The last time we put one together was in 2019. Previous themes were Self-Care, Queerness, Ageing, Crushes and Witchcraft. (Longtime penpals have these in their personal collection!) I’d like to create a new volume over the winter as a way to stay connected and inspire each other, and today I invited our coven and slumber party community to contribute.

I’d also like to invite patrons here who identify as any combination of sapphic/witchy/femme/queer to consider contributing!

The theme is “TOO MUCH”.

Deadline for submission is January 15th, 2023.

Our events are about embracing our too muchness in all the ways that feel good, and we’d like to bring that energy to this project.

Women and femmes are often told we’re “too much”…even more so if you happen to be queer, fat, disabled, black, indigenous, gender non-conforming, or any particular thing that makes you stand out. In spite of this many of us have found our power and our greatest joys in our “too muchness”. 🙌

I’m looking for contributions that explore the ways we’re too much… how it serves us, how other people have reacted to it, how it affects our place in the world, our experience of other people’s too muchness, and who the fuck decided how much was TOO anyhow.

We’re interested in your art, photos, essays, poems, prose, collages, quizzes, advice, activities, astrology, lists, potions, erotica, images, rants, raves and WORDS on the topic of “too much”.

(I’m also interested in collecting quotes or wisdom you might come across on the subject of “too muchness”, as well as compiling a little resource list on other media projects you might know of on this subject, if you see anything that might apply please pass those on too.)
