We’re always workshopping new ways to elevate our fun for coven events.

At the 8th Sapphic Slumber Party we had a blank booklet in the main parlour and asked guests to add time stamped quotes or observations through the night. What resulted is a fantastic mix of things people overheard or witnessed.

Here are the first two pages. I’ve edited out a few names for anonymity’s sake. I’m still giggling at Anna saying “I know you’re busy but…” while Eden was literally COVERED in clothespin zippers.

The 4 hand spanking looked divine, for what it’s worth.

And for those of you who aren’t francophone the red writing essentially describes E eating a croissant while Anna is having an orgasm in the circle bed.

In Canada everyone has to take French classes in school. Many of us, Joie and I included, took full time French Immersion as children. Which means we were partly raised by unique French Canadians who taught us a québécois flavour of bilingualism. Which is a nice way to say that when we have too much to drink we often start yelling at each other in broken Quebec slang. Or “Franglaise”, as we call it.

(This is also how Lexie found herself in the kitchen at the 7th slumber party, surrounded by tipsy Canadian girls yelling “BÎN uhhh… tabernac… donç ily a une uhhhhh… bin uhhh… zût alors çe n’est pas bon eh?!” which was very unnerving for someone who had never heard the nasal whine of bad anglophone accents. How did the beautiful women before her suddenly turn into 50 year old Quebec farmers? The Canadian school system. That’s how. Our apologies! 🥲)
