I wanna go somewhere with a big fancy tub and have a bubble bath together, with bath bombs and fruity soaps, being naked silly. And I wanna teach you how to balance on a slack line, watch you get all stubborn when you’re not good at it right away. And I wanna kiss you at night by the lake again, but this time when it’s warm enough that we’re not wearing much and we can put our feet in. I want to slow dance with you at a wedding, maybe help you pick out a nice suit, tell you how handsome you look and whisper that you should meet me in the bathroom. I wanna chase down the ice cream truck barefoot in the summer and bring you a popsicle to surprise you when you’re all hot sweaty and working outside. I want to kiss you in the rain. I want to kiss you in a dark theatre. I want to take you to the zoo and hold your hand and tell you every single fact I know about every single animal there (which is a lot, you know). I want to put aloe on your pink skin after you get a sunburn, I wanna kiss my teeth at you for not wearing sunscreen while I touch the tender places and you wince and promise, “yes ma’am,” that you won’t forget next time. I want to take care of you. I want to fuss over you. I want to let you take care of me. I want to fall asleep with my head in your lap. I want to lay under the stars together wrapped in a big sleeping bag. I want to sing to you around a campfire, wearing one of your hoodies, watching embers float to the sky. I want to kiss your tears. I want to kiss your tomorrows. I want to walk with you again on a busy downtown sidewalk, holding your hand, watching people and streetcars, feeling like the luckiest girl. I am the luckiest girl, because what I want most of all is just to have you near, to breathe you in and rest my head on your shoulder, to feel the hum of your voice as it escapes your lips. Soon.
