Description
Towards the end of the year, citizens of a small village deep in the red desert gather to make a journey to mark the start of a new season. Nearby, amongst black rocks worn by the crimson sand, float shards of crystal. Sparkling in the light throughout the year, this small clutch of objects gently undulate in the air, just out of reach. At a single moment every year, the shards go through a transmutation or reaction of a sort. Whether it's the absorption of enough light, or some other speculated science, the crystals begin to glow on the eve of the year's final day. The villagers visit the pass as the sun begins to set, the twilight revealing a dazzling array of colours in the depths of the shards. If you can catch the light just right, at the right moment, you can see glimpses of your possible futures or alternate selves.
