Authenticity
Added 2019-08-04 17:22:58 +0000 UTCI’ve been working hard these past few years to be authentic with my family members about who I am. Recently one of my cousins, who is pregnant with her first child, asked me if I would feel comfortable taking some nude maternity photos of her. I felt honoured to be asked to help create such intimate and important pictures. I also felt such a sense of pride that my honesty about my queerness and my hobbies taking saucy photos of my friends led to her feeling comfortable enough to ask me. It was so validating to not only be accepted but encouraged. Her partner wasn’t familiar with my work so she asked me to send some examples of images I’ve captured. These are the shots I picked to send her way.
