Pitcher plant!
The pitcher plant is the provincial flower of Newfoundland, it lures bugs into it’s little traps at the base of the flower. Yay carnivorous plants!
I’ve been reading To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf during this vacation. It’s the second time I’ve picked it up, it was my husband’s grandmother’s favourite book. After she passed away I decided to start reading it, but it was too emotional. She was from the east coast, so picking it up again now felt right. In her last days she didn’t have the Bible close by, she had this book, and she would ask people to read passages to her even though she’d read it 100 times in her life. Reading it now feels like a window into her thoughts, I just wish I could talk to her about it.
