That meant we were both in service for the majority of the night, and it meant I started musing on how to encourage more of the babes in our group to feel confident topping.
I came up with Top Shop, a little partnered demo at the beginning of the night where curious guests can take turns learning and practicing techniques. The first time we did some basic rope, and then we did spankings. Last time we did hair pulling and face slapping, and this time I brought enough clothespins for everyone and we played with pain.
The idea is the Top Shop demo focuses on how to do these things *safely* and with proper consent and communication. It gives folks a chance to try out their skills and build confidence with being “in charge”, which can be daunting. A lot of women shy away from topping because they don’t want to disappoint anyone, or let them down. Because everyone knows it’s just a playful demo there’s less pressure to be an expert, and more of a focus on having fun.
I love looking around at a room-full of lingerie-clad darlings who are full of courage and giggling while they try something new. And my plan worked! At each event we’ve had more and more bossy and toppy babes than the last.
