This is our first event without tumblr, which really fuelled sales of our instax packs, as well as my store sales, and our tip jar on kofi. By combining these little streams of income we always made enough extra cash to cover safer sex supplies and the cost of hiring a security guard. Sometimes there was even extra to pay for a tarot card reader or a few extra bottles of Prosecco, both of which usually come from my pocket. So I was pleased to see a couple orders come in this week. It gave me hope!
I think the cool thing about the instax packs is that most of the folks who buy them are queer women, who appreciate the inspiration, and want to support the team. When we started this initiative I assumed it would be dudes buying pics, and some lovely dudes do, but the majority of our supporters are sweet ladies who leave sweet notes like this in their order. And it melts my heart, it truly does. It makes me worry less about the finances and remember that my main goal for this event was to raise sapphic and kinky femme visibility, and to make safe and supportive space for these kinds of experiences.
A lot of work goes into this special event, and a lot of money too. I’m always looking for ways to offset the costs, so I’ll be donating all of the proceeds from April and May’s Patreon to the event and all of the extra little details that add up. I want to thank all of you so much for your support, it means so much to me. I’m already excited about sharing all of the gorgeous pics here.
