Cleaning Out Google Drive
Added 2020-02-09 23:13:35 +0000 UTCSo one of my followers pointed me towards this journal entry on FurAffinity, warning artists who make explicit content not to use Google Drive and other Google services because they can delete your account for violating their terms of service without warning. I've read the terms of service and while it seems that it allows "non-explicit intimate and sexual images or videos" and "depictions of nudity that serve a clear educational, scientific, or artistic purpose", I think we can all agree that big businesses are run by ham-fisted prudes whose attempts at policing explicit content are done with all the grace of trying to do origami with your elbows.
That said, I'm going to be taking precautions to keep my Google services up and running. I use Google Docs to notes on commissions, and Drive to save and send completed works. Although the most explicit content I make doesn't go above a hard "R" rating, I'd rather not risk losing all that over drawing boobies.
So starting today, I'll be cleaning out my Google Drive of anything even remotely suggestive, and will be looking into other services to use so I can continue doing what I do without much hassle. Dropbox seems to be a popular site- if anyone knows of any other sites that do the same thing, let me know.

Man, I havent used Imgur in a long time. I'll have to dig up my old account there.

However, one does have to watch out because shared file links will break if you move or rename the files on your computer. There are some competing options such as mega.nz too.
