Some sketches I did featuring many variations of the Welsh wassailing horse-ghost Mari Lwyd!

Of course I know the Mexican sugar skull style head in the corner there isn’t really Christmas themed or even really December themed but the thought of a horse skull Calavera came to my mind and I wanted an excuse to use the Symmetry ruler tool

WIP - Rosy the Nagafox

WIP of a commission for Rye Bread Dragon, with his OC Rosy the plant vixen as a naga-plant-fox, plus a bunch of practice sketches of roses, for when I eventually draw the back view of Rosy to show the giant rose growing on her back.

Roses are hard to draw O_o but I think I managed to work out a way to draw them without too much trouble.

Also found that without color, roses look a lot like cabbages.

Robo Tarot - The Empress WIP

It's been too long since I last worked on my Robo Tarot project, so here's a look at what I've got so far for the Empress card!

The hardest part for this was re-imagining many of the traditional symbols of the Empress card: the flowing river, the forest, the 12-starred crown, the heart with the venus symbol, and so on.

One of the Empress's key traits is motherhood, so I decided to have her assembling a newborn bot via parts on a conveyor belt (I plan to add them later)

WIP - Lineless Trees

Something I'm working on for a commission. I've been trying to work more on backgrounds lately, and have been experimenting with a few different ways to render them in a way that fits with my personal style. Mainly I've focused on a simple lineless look here, making environments out of solid-colored silhouettes, with slight color variations to create detail as well as gradient overlays for lighting- in the second pic you'll notice I added a warm sunny light over the tree here.

I got covid :/

I was sick the last couple days with what I thought was just a cold, but I took a covid test today and it came back positive.

I feel fine for the most part at the moment; certainly better than I did yesterday. At worst I'm just a bit congested. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets.

Trying a new thing: Commission WIPs

Hey everyone! I've decided to occasionally post WIPs of people's commissions as I work on them, to add a little extra engagement. I'll always ask for permission from the client beforehand of course, but as always if you don't want me to post any part of your commission for whatever reason, like it's a gift for someone or whatever, just let me know!

A rough sketch of an idea I had where my dream demon Sweet Tooth would contort their body into a rough silhouette of a typical "shadow person", the kind often seen in paranormal sightings, nightmares, and bad Benadryl trips.

Some lovely pokemon ladies done mostly as an excuse to try out different drawing and coloring techniques. Rather than my usual sharp and cel-shaded rendering, I tried to go for a more messy, sketchy look to the linework and shading.

Clip Studio has settings where you can randomize the color of your brush strokes, and I found if I turn those settings real low, just enough to make each stroke just a tiny bit darker or lighter, it creates a nice, organic painting effect that really adds a ...
