What's going on for Emily (part 1)

Hello everyone!

We're now back on Emily for this month, so let me tell you what's up!

Emily being the 2nd game, inheriting from the existing code, workflow and design, she is also going to get some improvement done compared to Zoe.

Animations

You may have noticed that Emily animations are generally longer and more rich than Zoe's, with more diversity.

I wanted to test how much I can produce animation-wise to define a new quality threshold.

As far as I can tell, this is going to be true throughout the game, at least for the main events. I provided a gif (in two parts, see the 2nd post) about the chastity introduction.

It's a long and iterative work, so what you see is really the overall blocking of the animation, but it let you see what I mean.

The purpose of all this is to make sure that Emily feels as alive as possible, avoiding the black fade to secretely teleport the characters.

Design

Femdom is a complex subject, since the purpose is to get things done to you. It is, in essence, a contradiction with games where you try to actively do something.

With Zoe, I tried a favor system and the ability to refuse to do some things, and it worked to some extend, but also revealed some limitations.

For Emily, I'll now try something new: the "favor tokens". Essentially, the idea is that you'll be able to collect tokens (previously "earn favor points") and spend them to unlock a unique fetish path.

To get tokens, you'll have to dive deeper into specific fetish paths which are pushed onto you by Emily (findom, foot, maybe cuckolding?), and they will act as rewards.

When using the tokens, you'll be able to unlock one new event of the "release" fetish path to get a reward from Emily: blowjob, handjob, footjob, maybe even the right to lose your virginity. But since you're the one asking, using the tokens, Emily will have the opporunity to force you to play by her rules.

The more you use tokens, the more your releases may force you into submissive postures, and new rules may be set by Emily for the next time.

So now, you get to use the tokens to actually earn something femdom related, while still being in line with the story: the more you ask, the more she takes. In my opinion, this should work much better.

Very good point about the conflict between choosing and the "passive" nature of submissive players. I think "favour" should be maybe renamed something like "weakness", "compliance", "obedience", or even just "submissiveness" tokens (even though you probably have dom/sub as a stat already). The fact that gaining these tokens is also earning Emily's favour is part of the nature of the relationship.

I like the idea of tokens, maybe it will lessen the heavy randomness that Zoe had and that I found was frustrating sometimes
