I can’t wait for Windwaker and Skyward sword. But! I’m so damn excited for you to get to Tears of the Kingdom

Nash Vogeler

Wind waker is fun. If you like zelda dungeons than metroid prime is like one big zelda dungeon.

Ryan Cusack

I love this! I agree! I think all of these theories on Zants appearance are true all together in my opinion.

CHONCHO

I'd love to see you play Pikmin it's probably one of Nintendo's most unique and underappreciated franchises plus it's short only about 3 episodes long. 😅

Thatguyparsley

That are very well said and kind words! I couldn't have said it better. I just would like to add my take on the Zant appearance after the final fight. I always thought it might be the fleeting rest of Zant's being in Ganondorf, appearing after noticing that he was just used by Ganondorf like all the other puppets, to give him his personal cruel "farewell" in form of the neck break. It seems to me more like a symbolic way of retribution.

MasterDraco

Id also love to see you play some Metroid. Especially Metroid prime has a very unique approach to storytelling that I think you'd really enjoy

Incredible playthrough! Loved every second of it! And also Im happy no matter what Zelda game you decide to play next. Windwaker and skyward sword would be the most similar to what you're used to. And while I love the ds Zeldas they don't really have the best reputation and have some very Nintendo DS specific gimmicks in them which can make emulating them a bit challenging. Also if you ever were going to play them it doesn't have to be directly after windwaker. They're connected but not a lot. Imo the most underrated Zelda game is a link between worlds and it also has a lot of similarities to a link to the past. Looking forward to whatever you decide to play next!

Lonk Wore

The large 'knight' style enemies are Darknuts and weren't in OOT, which had Iron Knuckles instead, they serve the same gameplay purpose though.

Now that you've finished it, I would recommend checking out the Twilight Princess manga if you care. It does a good job of fleshing Link out as he's not a silent protagonist and is pretty awesome. I'm guessing most people want either Skyward Sword or Wind Waker next, and if so I guess I'm in the Wind Waker camp myself.

This playthrough was phenomenal Mapo!!! I came across your channel when you were halfway through ocarina and I loved it. There’s something so special and exciting about watching someone go in totally blind, especially with such renowned games. It’s been so cool seeing you piece the lore together, too. Your videos became the best content for smoke sessions with my brother, so thank you!! 🫶🏽 We’ve become huge fans of you and can’t wait for the rest of your Zelda journey! P.s. Adored your Baldurs gate playthrough as well. It made me start throwing people more often bc it’s so diabolical

Also the reason no gerudo are seen in Twilight Princess is possibly because the royal family executed them all. The Arbiter Grounds is a max prison and an execution chamber. There's also a possibility that they just left or intermingled with the Hylians. Telma the bar keeper has copper skin and red hair. It's possible she's of Gerudo decent.

Shadow0908

"The cursed swordsman is burried beneath the sacred tree." So Link from Ocarina of Time, the Skeleton Swordsman who teaches Twilight Princess Link all his sacred moves/ the golden wolf are all the same character. He's laid to rest beneath the tree in hyrule castle where the Spirit guards watch over him. Soo, you just put a bomb on where he's burried 😂

Shadow0908

Congrats on beating another Zelda! Just a few things I'd like to point out. The bulblin you fight in the castle courtyard is King Bulblin. The very same who kidnaps the village children, who you joust on the bridge, and fight in Gerudo desert. He's also seen riding off with a few bulblins in the end credits. Basically showing a few followers of Ganon were defectors to his cause. King Bulblin's character development is one of my favorites in the series for a side character. Zelda did house the Triforce and her life force within Midna for a short time. So you are correct about that! Then goes back to her own body when the time is right. Yes the Master Sword is glowing in the end battle with Ganondorf. A detail to keep in mind for future titles. The meaning behind the appearance of Zant at Ganondorf's final minutes is left ambigious. I always speculated it symbolizes that Ganon housed his spirit within Zant much like Zelda and Midna. Basically just showing that Ganon dying also means the last remnants of Zants life force within Ganon also die along with him. Which is why Midna is finally able to regain her true form after his death. I love your take on the opening title screen! I've never thought of it till you pointed it out. But it looping back after the end credits does make it feel like it can be interpreted as Link venturing out as a lone wolf after saving Hyrule. I'll never look at the opening title screen the same again thanks to you! I am absolutely loving how observant, vigilant, and receptive you've been to all the lore so far. Keep that up! In a series like Zelda, paying attention to the lore always pays off and rewards you for it. Cannot wait for your next Zelda adventure!

CHONCHO

Cant wait for wind waker and Skyward Sword brother !!! I'm a patreon only for Zelda 😅😅😅

As someone who grew up with with the Zelda games and having played all of the games multiple times, here is my advice on play order: First of all, I would recommend Wind Waker next just so you can enjoy a very different style than your used to in Twilight princess, and it's the game most connected to Ocarina of Time besides Majoras Mask. It’s important that you have played Wind Waker before Phanton Hourglass and Spirit Track, but you do not immediately have do Phanton Hourglass and Spirit track after Wind Waker. The gameplay in those two games are very different than Wind Waker. Story wise, the ending of Wind Waker is very easy to remember, so there is no risk you forget even if it’s been a while. Also there were also released three other zelda games in between Wind Waker and Phanton Hourglass (Four Swords Adventures, Minish Cap and Twilight Princess), so not many of us who grew up with it actually played those straight after each other anyway. Regarding A Link to the past. A Link Between World got released about 22 years after A Link to the past, so you do not really have to play them straight after each other, but A Link to the past should be played first. Link awakening is very loosely connected (even less that oot and tp), so it doesn’t really matter when you play that game at all. The Oracle of Season and the Oracle of Ages should be played straight after each other as you actually don’t unlock the final ending before finishing both (you unlock a password you use when you start the other game). It does however not matter which of them you start with first. Skyward Sword should not be played before you completed the other 3d-games (You only have Wind Waker left). Minish Cap can be played whenever you like. If you want to play the two originally zelda games on NES, be prepared to use a guide, because it’s almost impossible to beat without (For example, you sometimes have to bomb a random wall in the overworld without a single clue about it to progress the game). Also, the stories of those games are told in the manual only. Do not play those games before you are mentally prepared for an old school and unfair experience. The two Four Sword games as well as Tri Force heroes are multiplayer games and not important to play unless you just want to for the sake of it. Finally, I know that you already played BOTW on your own. I don’t know if you plan to play botw again on YouTube, but if you do, I actually recomand that you do NOT play botw and Tears of the Kingdom straight after each other. That’s because their actually both very similar and very lenghty, and you might be burnt down. You should have a good break in between them.

Jumbo Mumbo

I never finished Spirit Tracks, but Phantom Hourglass at least is well worth playing - but obviously after Wind Waker. Might also be problematic to actually set up recording for a DS game.

zezibesh

I don't know if you have a switch Mapo (probably do haha). If you do, once you've finished Wind Waker and Skyward sword I recommend getting Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition for the Switch. It's one of the best love letters to fans I've ever seen a video game company make, getting to play as characters like Zant, Princess Ruto, Darunia and yes, even full form Midna! Probably not one you'd want to upload to the channel, but it's absolutely something I recommend for you in your down time now that you're learning about the franchise. As someone who loves easter eggs, references and throwbacks, you will have a BLAST!

Trash TV

Also. Spirit tracks and phantom hourglass is not remotely close to Wind Waker. Yes, it has the same art style, but it's a Nintendo DS game and plays VERY differently. So please. If you are gonna play those, wait until after you played the main titles like Wind Waker and Skyward Sword :)

Rasmus Kjær Poulsen

Most people will probably get you to play Skyward Sword, but i REALLY think you should take a break and play Windwaker instead. It's absolutely banger and also a bit of fresh air.

Rasmus Kjær Poulsen

i have my fingers crossed for wind waker!

sikri

an absolutely amazing play through and your love of it made the game all the brighter

sikri

Don't forget Skyward Sword. I think after Twilight Princess that one is my favorite Zelda game. Yes the controls were hard at times, yes some parts gave me such anxiety I had to step away from the game IYKYK, BUT, it was a fun time and sooo good story wise and the world is beautiful. I think Windwaker will get you into the goofy childish animation and Skyward sword will be that odd gap between Twilight Princess and Wind Waker style wise. However you plan to do it you should play Skyward Sword BEFORE BOTW and TOTK the way Nintendo intended lmao.

AttackRunRepeat

This playthrough was one of my favorite of yours even though it is not as iconic as souls playthroughs. Being able to relive my childhood's most important game (probably my fav game still to this day) with you was awesome. Zelda finals are such a masterpieces. Especially this and Windwaker

Onat Arık

A link to the past was my game along with the super mario bros series when i was a 4-7 year old. I love this game and only when i was about 13 i realized just how many zelda games there were so i caught up a bit on them haha

Denaze

You'll probably do another 3d one next, but I highly recommend checking out A Link to the Past before too long. It's the only one of the early gen Zeldas that I feel still holds up insanely well today in all aspects. The story is a little more bare bones but it's the first game that really strongly solidified the Zelda formula and you can feel its influence in all future games in the series.
