Yeah the story is so good. I really think he would enjoy it more if he continued more with the main story between all the side missions. The game really doesn't benefit from playing it in blocks like this. I just want him to enjoy it to the fullest haha

A lot of the side quests are optional and not really worth it, so I hope you feel comfortable just leaving some stuff undone. I agree with you that Inquisition is too big and has too much filler, I hope the filler won't ruin the story for you, bc I think it's still a good story overall.
