Kelin spent a couple of days making more talismans to refill his stock and ended up with a bit more than two hundred of each, all of them at the Second Evolution.

It took Kelin three days to create the foundation of his sanctum.
Adjusting the spatial wards was the most difficult part, while the rest was arranging the interior to his satisfaction.
Four cores were required at a minimum in order to set up a guild hall, but he had twelve, which allowed for a triple-layer array of offense, defense, and suppression, as well as all the utility and administration of various areas that the cores were designed to handle.

The academy site was about twenty miles to the south of Highmist and a bit to the east, set on a hill overlooking a bend of the Sirenflow River and the neighboring forest.
It was close enough to be associated with the city, but far enough that it was troublesome for students and anyone at the Basic Evolution to cross quickly.
For anyone at the First Evolution or higher, it wasn’t difficult. If they couldn’t teleport, they could just walk or jog over in short order.

Kelin appeared in the guild in Highmist as the energy of the teleportation spell twisted the air.
Golden flames flickered around him as he scanned the room, each of them leaping with mana and soaring like tiny phoenixes.
The room was empty.

It was good advice for a mage, just like it was for a warrior, so that was what Kelin did.

The inside of the mausoleum was filled with dense Bone essence. It filled the air like a swirling fog.
It was so dense it was almost cloying and it hung in Kelin’s senses with a strange scent, like old bones and dust. There was something sweet and wet at the edge, hinting at broken marrow and a tint of blood.
It was mixed with dense necrotic energy that was so intense there were arcs of dark blue lightning surging through it, covering the room in streams of white and dark.

The city street exploded as the monk landed, creating a crater a dozen feet deep. A massive wave of disintegrated bone dust and shadows filled the air.

As Kelin appeared on the other side of the portal, a sprawling world made of bones appeared before him.
There was a city that filled most of it, but that wasn’t the only thing here. Beyond it, mountains and plains made of white bone filled the horizon.
