I think one of the things about Not Me is that OffGun were, at the time, the only OG (hee hee) BL ship left at GMMTV, and they chose THIS as their "last" BL. Tay and New were in their divorce era, Singto was about to leave the company, and Bright and Win were already signaling they'd never do another one. I started watching BL in early 2022, and the buzz then was that Off was retiring from BLs, after this, clearly the best show Off and Gun would do together. It's gritty and not sweet; it's political and not necessarily all about the romance. Puppy Honey and Theory of Love are more sweet than not... And this show IS remarkable for its era; Thailand isn't a place where protests are legal, and showing the people rising up against corruption WAS a big deal, based on what I've read about it. Lastly, P'Nuchy is directing and writing Burnout Syndrome, OffGun's 2025 show, so even though BS doesn't look political, I would imagine it'll be more gritty than sweet, which isn't what we've seen from OG lately. Cooking Crush and Trainee were sweet, I'd say.
