Adam can hear your soft breaths from across the hotel room.

Each one brings him one step closer to madness.

You: Mn…

Your bed creaks and Adam stiffens until he realizes you're just rolling over, your cheek pressing against your pillow, your lashes fluttering as you dream.

He can still make out the shape of your body. The way it molds to your legs and rises with your hips before dipping again.

He scrubs a hand over his face and forces himself to turn away from you.

He's warm all over.

No, not warm. Warm is too comfortable of a word.

A more apt description is that he's burning from the inside out, every part of him on fire.

Why do you have to be so fucking alluring?

He's tried covering his ears with a pillow, concentrating on future plans, anything to ignore the fact you're both sleeping together in the same room.

But now you're in the same living space as him.

Visiting you at the hospital was nothing in comparison to this torture.

At least back there he was too occupied keeping you safe and the two of you weren't using the same shower.

But now…

He lets out a low groan.

This was such a fucking bad idea.

But it was either this or you rooming with Saffron and he'd be damned if he let that hungry, sadistic asshole come anywhere near you before Adam gets what he needs out of you.
