September Progress Update

Hey there, here's what I've been working on so far this month.

Firstly, I've added strafe walking when holding a potion to throw. This is purely a visual improvement but looks much better than just walking in place.

In addition, I've also started to implement a save system to the game. This has actually been a bit more involved than I had originally realised but should be mostly implemented in this month's build. Obviously this isn't a very flashy inclusion or anything but is nonetheless important.

Lastly, I've also started the process of having the next creature be implemented into the game. It's still very early in the creation process but its going to be a mantis like creature. Here's how that's looking:  Don't worry he will have a head, although I'm not fully decided how it will look as there are quite a few different Mantis species out there to pull inspiration from. As for size, I want him to be the largest creature yet however I'll need to mess around to see what scale works best for the animations I want to make. He likely won't make it into this month's build but I'll provide an update on how he's looking at the end of this month.

As mentioned in the previous build release post, the major announcement I've been planning on eventually making is an actual official title for the project plus a date for a free public demo to bring more attention to the game. While I do have a name in mind, I'm still not entirely sure when to do the announcement plus release the demo as I want the game and its direction to be in a more solidified state. While this likely won't happen this month, it is something that you can expect to happen soon™.
