June Update

Hey there, just a quick update on how things are going so far this month and what to expect in the next update.

So far the biggest change is the new map I've been working on. Admittedly it is largely based off of a demonstration map that came with some foliage assets I bought however I think it will work as a good base moving forward. In particular the assets have a very nice occlusion effect when you get near which really helps to avoid having Kyra be obstructed by foliage. Something that quickly became apparent however is that I would need to start implementing some traversal mechanics so that moving around the map is actually interesting. So far I've added a simple double jump and "gliding" like mechanic. The animation and sound effects are still WIP and for now they can be accessed immediately, however I plan to have some traversal mechanics be dependent on consuming potions once that mechanic is actually implemented properly. Unfortunately I haven't made much progress on that front but plan to work on the potion and inventory system more before the end of the month. Here's how some of those other things are looking right now though.

Something that has also been progressing is Kyra's boots. Some minor modelling work is needed and then it should just be the textures. I've also been working on a simple system so that her feet will actually bend when wearing high heels and her height will correspondingly increase.

 Lastly I want to create a new Kokku Roach animation for the next build. Specifically I was thinking of making a sort of cowgirl animation but haven't started it quite yet.

Anyways those are the main things to report so far this month, as always expect the next build by the end of this month.
