2026-01-04 13:35:41 +0000 UTCI absolutely loved your interpretation of the lyrics and I HIGHLY suggest u searching for the story of each female saint that inspired the storytelling behind some of the tracks of this album. Porcelana for example tells the story of a Japanese saint Ryōnen Gensō who cut her own face to keep men from flirting with her and therefore, saving herself from the temptations of flesh. The masculine voice doing the rap on the track represents God speaking to Ryōnen in a way of comforting and encouraging her when shes about to start cutting her face (which is also a nod to how most of us Christians tend to pray and talk to God before doing things that we are scared of/anxious about). I also love that she chose black rappers to represent God on the album (Yves Tumor ALSO plays the role of God on Berghain) as for many years the catholic church considered black people as souless. Its also GENIUS the way she uses the instrumental as part of the storytelling. STILL On Porcelana (this is the most brilliant track on the album) the aggressive Piano solo part towards the end is meant to portray her cutting her face, and right after when it switches to the angelical vocals on the outro, thats her finally being in peace and feeling the embrace of God. And last BUT NOT LEAST, another genius thing about Lux - Its all about Rosalia embracing her spirituality but still questioning and being inquisitive, which is something we should all be able to do regardless of being religious or not. Album of the century.
