Update Progress: New VR Interactions

One of our programmers, Brogrammist, has been working hard on revamping the VR duel interactions and has created a sneak preview video showcasing some of the features! After testing it myself, I can say that its going to make dueling feel a lot more immersive :)

Card Back Vote + Quick Update

Hey!

Sorry for the delay in getting the update out, rebuilding all the systems is taking some time. Currently, we are focusing on reworking the games UI system (which is my least favorite thing to do). Working towards getting this update finished so that we can run a patreon test in the future.

Howdy! 

Next month we are planning to increase the patreon <-> DMVR input and refine the rewards patreons get. Part of this will include us changing how we decide which monsters to implement on a monthly basis. To kickstart this off, it will be helpful for us to get a feel for which type of monster card people would be interested in.

DMVR 2.0. will not just be

The future direction of this game will be DMVR 2.0. This game will not just be Yu-Gi-Oh.

Although it’s still heavily in development, we here at the DMVR team feel it’s important to be transparent about our future plans for DMVR.

It will be a more generic system akin to Dreams or Table Top Simulator or VRChat with Yu-Gi-Oh being one of the games that you can play.

February 2020 Recap

For February 2020, we pushed up a few Patron builds in this Discord. The beginnings of v0.10 builds, which has now become public: v0.10.69 on the Discord.

In this build, we added 5 new decks with the corresponding models with the help of Anthony Yanez and Akato and Artorikus and Zeak and more.

This build adds like 5 new decks:

Some decks are not usable yet like Mako S2, Old Bastion, and Tania.

DMVR 2.0 Announcement

Today I am announcing my roadmap for what is currently called DMVR 2.0. It's a full rewrite of DMVR from the ground up with a focus on extensibility and performance. One of the main issues with the current code base is its dependencies on third party tooling and libraries, which makes it hard to build upon.

July 2018 - Interactions Update

I've been catching up to speed with integrating all the VR devices.

Floating duel disks and Vive controllers look cool, but what really makes a difference are the avatars.

We want to live the role. We want to be an actual duelist.

I want a body. I want arms and legs.

We integrated the multiplayer avatars this month to allow duelists to meet each other and really live the game as a duelist.

June 2018 Update - Where are we at right now?

Hi everyone, here's a duel that J and I did to show more of the cross-platform functionality.

UI wise, it might look the exact same as what we had back in November 2017, but underneath the covers, we're working with that authoritative server.

1. Fix functionality for saving decks. Deck editing isn't where we want it to be yet. Website needs work while the VR side feels so clunky!

At San Jose Gamer Gala 2 - Behind the Scenes

We went to SJSU's Gamer Gala 2 at their 2nd Floor Student Union Ballroom to demo some Yugioh AR and Yugioh VR! I had a lot of fun and learned from observations of new players trying the game out.
