The thing with Lizzo is her music can be really good when you wanna have a good time but I cannot enjoy just listening to her when i wanna feel happy because it just feels like too much happiness coming at me at once with the bubble gum pop. Renaissance is different because even though there are many self-love songs, they are so much more darker and easy to just groove to. I listened to the album once today before watching your reactions and I had nearly the exact same reaction for every song. She's writing great but delivery feels way too forced I think. Anyway, your video was great! I'm so glad to see you back and staying happy ❤

For me Special was definitely an album that I overall really enjoyed! I can do without Grrrls and Birthday Girl just, but, outside that, I really enjoyed the album. It seems to bounce between slow, intimate songs that are so lyrically and sonically good, and then upbeat songs that are definitely much more mainstream sounding. But, nonetheless, I still enjoyed them and the album as a whole!

i absolutely loveeeeee ‘coldplay.’ it’s my favorite on the album. i saw lizzo live in october of 2022 and had such a blast to that song. made some unforgettable memories. even if that didn’t happen, i still find it so beautiful. her vocals are otherworldly and the STRINGS!!! 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) is one of the best pop songs I ever heard, fell in love first listen. My problem with Lizzo is that she has this amazing instrumentals and producers but I have a hard time with her lyrics, a lot are too… childish or just bad. I totally agree this album has a lot of bubble gum pop vibes and I was expecting something Abit more mature sounding after her last album However you can’t deny most tracks are the ultimate pick up if you’re down, positive vibes all around! I agree the lyrics for The Sign, Grrls and Birthday Girl are absolutely terrible - those songs only worked slightly better when I saw Lizzo perform them live and I’d had three or four drinks 😕Generally the whole album should be enjoyed that way 😂 the lyrics throughout the album are a bit immature and not very subtle however, I think this album is an extension of her personality - fun, really silly, loud, honest and positive and I don’t think she ever intended to make a serious record. ‘Bitch’ is also her favourite word 😂She’s an amazing performer and the industry needs her but I think she’s got a much better record in her. Look forward to the next reaction. David x
