- Okay, first 2023 post, an update on this armor set, the completed highpoly asset for it.
- This took a shitload of time to make and to get it in this polished state. Sorry for no updates along the way, but it was time consuming enough without me stopping arbitrarily to do posts and renders along the way, that would've taken even longer.
- This was a bit of a nightmare to work on, in all honesty, not because of the armor itself, but my old pc. Constant crashes, slowness and annoyances, due to running out of memory, just not a very fun experience to say the least. It really does have a lot of pieces and the polycount is insane for a single scene. I probably would not have done this armor if I knew what I was signing up for lol.
- Still, it's done and I did learn a bit along the way. I'm not really used to doing these types of sci-fi armors/accessories, so it was fun figuring things out. I'm still kinda bad at it atm but maybe if Starfield is good and I move on to it, I'll be doing more of these types of assets and get better/faster at it.
- Overall, I think it came out good and I even like the parts that I designed (that may sound weird, but there's plenty of stuff I've done that I don't think look good heh). Also posted a separate picture of the thruster thing, since it's hard to see inside in the main armor shots.
- I think the hard/time-consuming part is mostly done for this asset. Converting to game-res should be pretty easy, most pieces already have usable geometry for a game at their base level, so this should be out soon-ish.
