I don't have any experience with advertisers, but wouldn't it be better to have the source of income and lose it than not have any source of income in the first place? I would think that integrity would come into play if you were to drop or turn down an advertiser over moral issues or whatever else despite the financial hit. His argument makes no sense- integrity really doesn't enter into the equation if you're turning down all potential sources of revenue just in case you might disagree with one, and then not want to drop them because of the money you'll lose? You're already losing the money by not taking what's offered to you, and actually what he's saying is that he has no integrity: he's worried advertisers will influence his content and points of view because he'd be afraid to turn down the money. I think he's just lazy and/or doesn't want to deal with the headache or potential hassle of dealing with other people- morals don't enter into it.
