Project Poll 6
Added 2020-03-22 11:15:37 +0000 UTCAfter much consideration I decided to put this concept up.

Realistically the only thing that caught my eye here is the leather jacket and normally I'd just make that as a single thing, put it out and that'd be that, but since I JUST released a leather top, I decided to let you vote on it rather than repeating myself or make something people are not interested in at the moment.
Anyway, I'm going to approach this in a similar way to the Amara armor: Vote for individual pieces or the full thing. Color coded version in the image above should explain how I intend to split this and the poll options.
Unlike the Amara armor, I'm not going to make it as modular (though outer most pieces that are not covered by something, like the jacket and boots could be split off theoretically and probably will) and I'm going to be sticking to the concept much more closely. That means no crazy sculpts and over complicated models and textures compared to the original concept ( that's kinda like my trademark, but I don't think this concept would benefit that much from it anyway :p ). All of this should hopefully mean this is completed much faster.
2 things before I finish this up:
1. You may have noticed looking at the color coded image and/or the poll options that the gloves are not a part of the options ( and voting for the full set option wouldn't include them either ). That's intentional, I don't want to make those.
Reason for that is simple : I'm kinda tired of making fingerless gloves. Both the Rage Armors I've released on the nexus had them, the Amara armor had them and the Rage gloves had them. It seems that every concept under the sun has fingerless gloves and while they're cool and all, too much of a good thing is ... too much ? Since the gloves in this concept aren't anything special or integral to the design in my opinion, I'm skipping those this time.
2. The boots in the concept are high-heels. I'm not going to change that but I'm also not going to be supporting any 3rd party high-heel mod or things of that nature, so the boots WILL eat into the character's calves/height and will probably look a bit off because of it.
I think this is everything I wanted to mention. Leaving this open for 2 weeks, that should give me some time to finish up other things before starting this.
Voting "No" in this poll would result in me putting up another one containing a new hairstyle, so if you'd rather have that, than this, vote "no" I guess :P

Oh ... goes to show that having more eyes on something is always a good thing. I haven't noticed that that part was supposed to glow, but now that I look closer, there is an faint indication in the concept that suggests that. I was originally going to either paint the emblem in the texture or model it in the highpoly and bake it down so that it has a 3d look like the hoodie emblem and glow wasn't really a part of the equation. However that hasn't really changed even after noticing that it's supposed to glow. Bethesda's engine/shaders doesn't support cube mapping and glow maps being used at the same time, it's either one or the other, which sucks big time. Even if I made glow maps for it, it would be unusable ingame normally, learned that with the Amara necklace. I'd have to make the logo piece a floating decal mesh over the jacket and apply glow to it separately, which is not worth it to me. It's most likely not going to have any sort of glow.

The only thing about the bottoms I am drawn to is its belt and the hip straps (thong?)-- those look pretty cool. Question about the top real quick, if you don't mind: will it have that glow around the skull on the back, or will it be done differently without a glow map? Just curious, as I'm content no matter how it looks. I just find the texturing process oddly fascinating and was wondering if you had a different concept in mind for that part. As always, look forward to it. Stay safe -- weird times we're in.

2020-03-23 02:33:05 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if that's any better. From personal experience, it's better if everything works out of the box in some way. Relying on users to pump up their characters would just end up in confusion and questions probably more so. I still think that cutting a bit of the character's height is the best way to approach it as it has worked fine for me in the past. The reason I've not split this up as much as the Amara set is convenience and ease of working. It's also much faster to make everything at once, not have to worry about how pieces fit with one another or how they look standalone.

2020-03-22 19:46:43 +0000 UTCI mean tbh if you're not gonna support the HHS mod it would probably be a better idea to just let them clip into the ground and force modpos usage, as you're gonna set yourself up for people begging you to make a version so they can add HHS compatibility as that requires editing the model. OFC I couldn't care less and I like the boots enough that I could fix it for myself but Just pointing out. TBH the boots are probably the only thing I'd care for from the set, everything else is kinda meh. IF there was a "Make boots only pls" option I'd vote on that.
