Elsa's town (BTS)

Here we go with the first behind the scene, I'm gonna take the last patreon commission to show off the secrets behind that render.

The first image displays the raw render, aka the render without any post work at all (exception for this case where I just placed in the background cause the render background was transparent), for the light I just used some basic sun-sky settings from Dreamlight

Second image shows off side view from the DAZ view port, as you can see Elsa isn't as big as she looks like and the "city" is just a pile of buildings with a camera placed in the middle, I often use that setup for my city scenes it's called "Urban Sprawl" by Stonemason. And if you wonder why her legs are darker that's because I modified the leg texture, looks weird in view port but all is normal on the final render.

Jumping on third picture which is actually the depth map made in DAZ directly by using a depth canvas in the render settings, this map is pretty useful to do the atmosphere effect which helps making Elsa look bigger than she is, it can also be used to add depth of field in Photoshop but I personally prefer doing it directly in DAZ with the camera setting.

Fourth image is taken from the back to show you that when you do a render, you don't want what's not visible on camera, you can see that her thumb is obviously clipping in her back and that her toes goes through the building at her feet, that's the kind of details we don't bother with as it won't be visible on the final render.

To achieve the final result I did some post work on photshop, I boosted up the sauration and contrast a bit using the filters from Nik Collection, I then used the depth map as a layer mask with a layer filled with light blue to add the atmosphere effect around Elsa's upper body and then I added some clouds using pictures found on Google images, I also used the wrap tool on Photoshop to slightly distort the image to make Elsa look slightly bigger.

And that's basically it for this render!
