Commercial Tier Updates
Added 2025-01-18 08:50:42 +0000 UTCHey all,
Over the last few days, while procrastinating from my actual day job, I have been thinking about the Commercial Use. I have put together a draft 1 of the agreement.
I would love to get your feedback. I think (might be wrong) but most of the agreement is sort of assumed. But please if you have concerns with any aspect of it, please let me know either via message or comments below.
The main thing I am thinking about is the cost. Is the cost fair? I fully accept you will want it to be as low as possible. - I have based these on an average sale of £40. personally I think a fully finished chastity cage, which is nice and smooth, is more than £40. closer to the £60-£70 mark (however it's your choice on how much you would sell the items for).
I full expect the majority to be in tier 1, which is 1-10 sales per month.
There are important things to highlight. Especially the territorial restrictions regarding the gas mask attachments. so check that out.

Comments
Thank you for your opinions and feedback. 1) fully understand that. The risk is always there in terms of folks taking my files and selling them on, even not on the correct tier. I have had one person, who I actually confronted, and in that instance they stopped. But yes it’s a risk. The only power I have, is to cancel their subscription to at least stop them getting access - even if it’s temporary. 2) I like this idea, this would help with the first point as well. I would be happy to promote authorised sellers. 3. Yes, it’s two fold. On one hand, I can let them use the brand, which would benefit us, and them. But only if they do a good job. If they do a bad job, it could damage the brand. Therefore giving others the opportunity to sell the items, reduces my control over the quality and image. This is why Design by KB3D will have a logo (which will be very similar to my current logo, but with extra). So it’s easy to know, that it’s connected but different to my stuff. 4) agreed. So at the moment the files can be edited but with my concent, so mainly it’s get in contact with me and let me know what you aim to do. And if I can help I will. But normally i’m happy with changes, only if i’m informed :) 5) yes, putting any limits can be frustrating from a seller point of view, but it’s to maintain what I want from the business. For example the territorial limit is, I currently can’t sell to the EU, so if someone based in the EU wants to take those sales, then perfect! Chastity cages I only really design, I don’t make. So why not let people print and sell them. Now I am always open to suggestions, and I will continuously change the terms if it will benefit us both. So if it’s concluded that the lower tiers are too expensive based on demand, I will review it and adjust :) I want this to benefit both myself and the seller, so let’s make it a joint venture :) 6) good point, I’m happy with in person sales and online, I will add that to the terms. Really appreciate the response. Thank you :)

2025-01-18 19:25:57 +0000 UTCThoughts from observing other creators' commercial licenses and testing out a few: 1. The pricing isn't bad for the higher tiers, but might be a bit high for the lower ones. On one hand, this makes it so someone with a license that doesn't report their sales correctly doesn't negatively impact the income by too much, but, there's also nothing stopping them from just using a normal subscription and grabbing all the files if they intend to deceive, so I'm 50/50 on the pricing for tier 1 & 2. Obviously you've been selling these already, so you probably know how much demand there is. 2. Would there be a list of "authorized" sellers and links to their stores? Seller IDs or codes that they have to display or put on the listing/photos used in a listing or watermarked? 3. Letting sellers use the brand as an identifier might be helpful for your patreon, since ones shopping around that already have a printer might opt to subscribe and print their own. While that might be a disadvantage, using the brand also makes it easier for newbies to know what they're looking at when it comes to options and online reviews across forums/reddit, sizing, comfort, etc, which might offset the lost sales overtime and grow the community awareness of the products. 4. Considering sellers might need to alter or customize sizes for customers, it might be worth it to have the original files available for higher tiers, or a new tier. I'm assuming it's not CAD, but stl is a pain to edit either way. At least allowing customization of the stls in the commercial license might be worthwhile for some people. 5. I know some creators limit commercial licenses for different reasons, I personally hate it as a practice, but there might be pros and cons to consider. 6. Is this limited to online sales only, or are in person and sales through physical stores allowed? Again this is something some creators do that gets on my nerves, but there are pros and cons.
