TLS After Version 1.0.0
Added 2025-09-14 17:00:08 +0000 UTCI've had this post in mind for a long time, but it's finally time to talk about the future of TLS after the end of the game. Because while everyone already got their ending, and the big official launch is coming up, that doesn't mean the end of TLS and its characters.
This post isn't about projects after TLS at all, it's about what aspects of TLS will continue. As the Patreon moves forward, you will see...
Continued Art Updates: Not every scene in the game is illustrated, so unless support collapses, you will see me continue to commission Annikath to finish every scene. ^-^ Art progress should remain the same, but time between updates will increase, so each new build will have a lot of new art bundled with any other bugfixes and revisions done in the meantime.
Celebratory Posts: I've wanted to do another player demographic survey, for example. The first one (over five years ago!) was a lot of fun, but it took more time than I expected, so I felt like it wouldn't be justified until after a major milestone. I also have some entertaining little things planned. At some point I want to do calculations on the overall game to produce some fun final numbers about its scope.
Developer's Commentary: In the past I've stated the desire to do a comprehensive replay of TLS, which would include minor polishing as well as my thoughts on the game and its development. I've held off on doing this because it would have felt too self-congratulatory before the game was complete, but thankfully patrons have been interested in this idea in the past. I would hope to gather everything in a developer's commentary that hopefully has the sort of insights and insider info that people enjoy. That said, I'm not sure when exactly I'll do this, because TLS is a time-consuming game even when you aren't writing a ton about it.
Postlude Stories: I have long had in mind a series of prose stories that are codas to the saga of TLS, ranging from quiet character moments to Yarra's new sexual goals to stories that feature the world hundreds or thousands of years after the conclusion of the game. The intent is to make these free for everyone, but they will be given to patrons first, as usual.
Bonus DLC, Maybe: One popular request was additional TLS content in the form of DLC. Maybe alternate timelines with different scenes, maybe a serious side story, maybe a silly "beach episode" with the characters. No promises, but this is the sort of thing that would require a significant chunk of development time post-launch.
TLS Comics: I reserve the right to do additional TLS comics any time I feel like. =P I actually have quite a few ideas stored up, but I didn't want to throw them at Annikath while she's been pushing on various release-related deadlines.
Okay, I'm paranoid that I forgot something, but I believe that's the list! As you can see, while I am eager to work on many new things, TLS will remain a part of this Patreon's identity for some time to come. I hope that everyone looks forward to it. ^-^
Quite a bit of progress has been made, so it's probably time for a big report next week.

Interesting idea! I like the symmetry of giving him one, but IIRC there are only five orc party members in those sections, so I don't know how much use it would see...

2025-09-15 12:56:51 +0000 UTCThose aren't placeholders in Vhala's Request, they're symbols similar to many of the other requests. Megail got mercantile scales, Wynn got papers, and Vhala gets a star. I just wanted to distinguish the shapes from the usual sparkling icon. Grynyth's scene is definitely a placeholder, though... unfortunately, we can't just illustrate the massive number of scenes for her section, so the only timely solution would be cutting.

2025-09-15 12:17:43 +0000 UTCBeen playing through 0.80.6 from the beginning and found a few things that I think could use some work. Vhala's Request still shows a lot of placeholder sprites. At least I think it does; it uses a lot of unique hovering star boxes. I don't think that was explained in-game anywhere from what I can tell and it tends to be used in lieu of people sprites... Grynyth's 'Play' sex interaction in the Garden of Earth still shows a "This scene will be completed later" notice. Cut it or write it, but get that notice removed before launch. Really though, this is quite polished. Perfect, no, but still superb quality.
