July 27 Update

For me, the big thing this week was the postgame going public, and thankfully that seems to have gone well. Unfortunately, the big thing for the NSFW game space as a whole was payment processors causing trouble again, getting multiple games removed from Steam, and causing itch.io to delist all NSFW games. This has happened before, and there's a lot of uncertainty because, even though there hasn't been an apocalyptic banning yet, each wave of this does cause a lot of trouble.

I have not been hit at this time, outside of the delisting and threat that's common to all creators in this space. This probably isn't the place to get into political activism, but if you're passionate about the subject, see which of the initiatives are relevant to your region.

This account has lasted through ten years of this, but that's no guarantee: if the wrong person at Patreon is in a bad mood, the account could be deleted without warning or appeal. Obviously I hope that won't happen, but it's possible, so we want to be prepared in multiple ways.

So if you want to follow my work, please prepare in case any puritanical types do succeed in taking down my work. If you're here, you already follow me via Patreon, but I do have an alternative SubscribeStar just in case. My games are on Steam, itch.io, and a bunch of sundry platforms. You can get news via my Discord and, in a pinch, probably the fan wiki. I haven't found social media very effective, but I do have a Twitter/X account that could give news in an emergency. Whichever of these you want to use, feel free to follow me there.

Aside from those, you could also follow me as Sarah Lin or Cognosticon for my books. Not relevant to some of you, but if my NSFW work gets some kind of widespread ban, you should be able to confirm I'm alive via those. I try to be reliable and consistent with my updates, so one of my fears is that I'll be cut off from my audience and some will assume I just disappeared.

No individual platform is immune to censorship, but they aren't likely to get hit all at once. Thanks to everyone's support, I've made this my career and I'm not dependent on any one source, so if the worst does come to pass, it's just a question of finding my work on a new platform.

In personal terms, I am well-prepared for this. I've done my best to diversify, so I can weather some storms. I will be around for a long time to come, regardless of the platform. ^-^

All of this is taking up more headspace than I'd like to admit, but I haven't been idle! Here are some things that happened this week:

• The postgame went public, apparently smoothly.

• I have updated the Patreon main page, with thanks to Lamsey for the new image.

• I've updated the Steam page with the new trailers and also touched up some text. This completes my "release-ready" plans. Thanks to Innocuous for helping with the trailers.

• It hasn't progressed yet, but I contacted GoG.com earlier than I intended. If they accept TLS, maybe I can get all my games backed up there as well, just in case Valve goes nuclear on adult content.

• The latest KS update for DStP should be out as well.

Yeah, dunno what else to say. I'm trying to stay on top of everything, but I am not being as productive as I would like. =/ This isn't a matter of puritan work ethic, I mean there are things that I'm excited about doing! Hopefully next week I will be able to report that I spent lots of time with them.
