Online VS Offline
Added 2025-11-12 17:47:16 +0000 UTCIn the recent days surprisingly many people were facing issues with the game while updating their hardware or windows. Long story short — people lost all their characters, cards, progression, and gold because they are saved locally on your computer and didn’t survive Windows reinstall, hardware malfunction, or simple “moving to a different laptop”. I can solve it easily by saving your characters and data directly on a server but it will require logging in and internet connection to play. I would assume it’s not a good option for some of the players who prefer to stay offline 100% of the time, right?

Whilst I completely sympathise with all those the lost their data (it happens to all), I'd be against this move. This is not a game that needs to be constantly online. And I've been in situations where I cannot play a game because either a server becomes offline, or my internet drops, or I travel and every time I lost interest to that game.

I'm thinking about saving all of your roster in a plain text json file, so you can easily restore all of your characters in case of crashes and/or hardware upgrade
