“Why aren’t people protesting?” THEY ARE. I think it’s an intentional media narrative to paint the resistance as “defeated” so the videos and news of protests are being suppressed right now. My partner and I have been to 3 deportation protests in the past 2 weeks and handed out tons of posters and literature. The resistance is STRONG and is only getting stronger as people grow more and more discontent with our apparent overlords.

2025-02-14 21:59:49 +0000 UTCSudden shocks certainly contribute to the size of street protests, but we shouldn't discount the years of preparation that's also necessary. The 2020 BLM protests were huge, but BLM was founded in 2013 and spent years expanding and improving its organization.
