2024-08-30 23:56:13 +0000 UTCNot only did California go 2:1 against Trump the last two times - meaning that it is mathematically impossible to throw the state to Trump - but in San Francisco we (who are old enough) know her origin story, and it's a villain origin. She was anything *but* a progressive DA and AG - in fact she got her start as the cop-sponsored candidate to *depose* a truly Progressive (capital P) DA, Terence Halinan (his dad was a Progressive Party politician back when that was a thing). Everything she's done flows from that. So, I'll be voting Peace and Freedom, as I have since 1992, and laugh at anyone who accuses me of helping Trump. In a safe state, your vote *can* matter - *if* you vote "third party". Statistically, that's where your vote will make the most impact. And it's far better than simply not voting at all. The duopoly parties don't care about low turnout, but they absolutely lose their shit when lots of people actively vote against both of them and for something else.

(Also, Bernie lauded getting an immeadiate ceasefire in Gaza in his DNC speech to mass applause. The damage control from the Dems has been nullified here.)
