2024-08-05 21:32:00 +0000 UTCWhile I agree that the Harris campaign should not be bringing up brat themselves, and should by no means try to stoke any Memes with a capital M, I do think they should point out that Trump, Vance and all hard core Trumpists are Weird. Weird is hatefully mysoginist and otherwise firing all guns against the most powerless. Weird is power fetishism that causes some to emblazon their big trucks with artwork of their hero done up ala Boris Vallejo. Weird is grovelling at the feet of a man who maliciously denigrated you and your family in the past - after offering no apology - babbling about their enemies trying to take their steaks away. Yes, there are other words for it, but something approaching truly demented and not in a good way captures it well in a new environment defined by brevity. I was on the fence with the idea but was convinced by Josh Marshall, the other half of my two favorite political commentators.
