Brain Chips! - EARLY ACCESS, AD-FREE, AND UNCENSORED

Hi. On today's episode, we're looking at Elon Musk's Neuralink, and more generally, brain tech – how it works, its potential to help those with disabilities, how corporations would almost certainly use it to spy on us, and why we definitely don't want Musk in charge of it. Plus, Star Trek orgasms.

I have to ask - am I the only one who is getting anxious wondering what the demon puppet is up to? It hasn't been seen in a while and I'm legitimately worried about what's in store.

Very wordplay-heavy episode this time, I like it. Being at the mercy of the olds, I like it less :(

Hi there. I am a property manager working in affordable housing in Oregon. I used to work in resident support services for a non-profit that built affordable housing. I work hard to treat the tenants of the property I manage with respect and empathy. It's a little hard to be called a "Fuck" by someone like you who exhibits such considered analytical skills in so many other areas. I agree that the problems in the world of rental housing are completely off the rails thanks to people using the need for shelter as a strategy for legalized theft and oppression. But some of us are doing our level best to mitigate this. Please don't contribute to this adversarial relationship with unfair rhetoric. Otherwise, thanks for all you do.

“If men could only know each other, they would neither idolize nor hate.” I've always really liked this quote ever since I saw it on TV somewhere, and it's where I thought Joe Rogan was going at first. Even if it wasn't, it's what I was thinking: a world in which nothing was hidden, and there was true understanding among all humans. What a sweet, naive daydream. Thanks for waking me up from it.

I'm very sad to say that the fire alarm gag in this sent my puppy-dog into a panic. That's what I get for using speakers! He's terrified of thunder and fireworks too. He's not been a happy camper recently. But he's okay now.

F in the chat for title monkey's family lost to this technology, and may the loss not be in vain. Also, nice to know cody actually has a smoke detector in the studio, I didn't think they'd let him have any safety features. Also I have to assume somehow this is Reagan's fault also.

It's so cute when Rogan does his intelligent human impression.

funny how joe rogan talking about communicating without "mouth sounds" (ugh, what a phrase) really makes it sound like he wants to quit his job. and, like, honestly, yes, that would be great, joe

I know it’s treat like a joke about the beginning of productive technologies being in the nineteenth century, but that is a correct detail. The mass adoption of mechanical time keeping devices led to a massive shift in the relationship between human labor and time as industrial capitalism got started. Historian EP Thompson has a discipline-defining essay on the subject.

Gimme that sweet sweet pattern Wesley!
